THE MOTHER (Played by “Oz” or “Scaramouche”): (Irish, Mysterious sketch artist) She reads from mid
20’s to 40’s. She “sketches” the fantasy world that unfolds throughout the night. She wears Victorian
spectacles with a simple, red, lace ribbon in her hair and has a conservative but artistic quality about her.
Her outfit has a casual, comfort of an artist working in her studio. (Good reference would be the
character of Evangeline from the movie Nanny McPhee). She is warm and has a knowing manner. Vocal
range from a low G to a high F (head voice), belt to a D.

corseted dress with lace boots but with an apron that keeps her conservative with a hint of playful
seductress – the comic relief of the show and a vocal ability to belt soulfully, pulls off physical humor and
exudes a likable charm. Vocal range from a low G to a high G (head voice), belt to E flat.
