ATTITUDE ACTION ACHIEVEMENT Frimley School Newsletter Wednesday, 9 November 2016 PRINCIPALS CORNER
Half way through the final school
term of 2016 and the pace is
building. There are a number of
reminders and notices in this
newsletter about events coming
up. Don't forget that the Frimley
School App keeps you posted of
last minute changes and has the
most up to date calendar.
A special welcome to the
following new students to Frimley
in the last fortnight:
Ella King, Dallas Filipo, Ezra
Kingi, April Raikes and Michaela
Payne.
Diwali Day 2017
We celebrated this yesterday
(Tues 8 Nov) in the school Hall
with dance, stories, a little
history
and
costumes/
decorations. It was great to see
so
many
of
our
Indian
community join us for the
presentation. A special thank you
to Prabhjot and Ramandeep for
organising the celebration and
Mary for your leadership. A range
of photos will be on the school’s
Facebook site later this week.
Staffing changes for 2017
As in any big school our size,
there are always a number of
teacher changes at the end of
the year. This year one of our
Associate
Principals,
Mary
Medcalf, has resigned to take up
a job at Bledisloe School; Victoria
Crisp
(Reading
Recovery
Teacher) is retiring and Camille
Douglas has won a job as a
Resource Teacher of Learning
and Behaviour. We will also be
farewelling Kristian Day and
Delwyn McKennie from our
teaching team.
We have appointed a number of
teachers ready for 2017.
These include - Lucie MacDonald,
Anthony Tattersall, Mat Makris,
Kath Winnie and Kate Keenan.
These teachers bring a range of
experiences and expertise to
Frimley and we are very excited
to have them on board.
Student

Teacher

be made regarding our staffing

School Fete
This Saturday from 12noon until

our wonderful PTA's major

with all funds going to special
projects at your school.
Please get in behind the Fete,
spread the word amongst your
friends, colleagues and whanau
and come along ready for the
12noon start.
Optimist Yachting
Next week our Year 5 & 6
students are down at Pandora
learning how to sail optimist
yachts, thank you to the parents
who are assisting with this.
Without your support these types
of opportunities are impossible
for us to offer your children.
Athletics- Years 4-6
On Monday this week we were
extremely lucky to get through
our Years 4-6 athletics at the HB
Sports Park, with the weather
threatening for most of the
morning. We are so lucky to have
this fantastic facility on our
doorstep and for our students to
have the opportunity to complete
on a 'world class athletics
course'. Thanks to Darin and Paul
for organising/setting up the day
and for our teachers/learning
assistants and parents who
helped out on the day. Results
can be found later in the
newsletter.
