MINUTES OF MEETING HELD ON
11th January 2016

Minutes of Previous meeting: Agreed as a true record. Just one amendment should be Jan
16th for track mile races.
Club reports
Tamar Trotters
December was a fun month with lots of seasonal events. This year will be the clubs 20th
Anniversary. There will be some incentives on entry for Mag 7 to celebrate plus other events.
Good turnout at first training sessions of 2016. Club putting on Sport Relief Mile on 24th
March.
Plymouth Musketeers
The club have 2 new LIRFS attending the next course. Good turnout in January Jaunt and
Westward league. Al Ryder and Steve O’Shea won age group awards at the January Jaunt.
Online entries for Muskies Madness going live this week.
BATS
Club going well. 11 at January Jaunt
Plymstock Road Runners
Steve introduced Bridget Henry who looks after the routes at the club. Club are introducing a
new kit, Memberships at around 90. Amalgamated juniors to one night. Graham Bale 1st in
age category at January Jaunt. There will be a new course for the Muddy Duck 10K this year.
Instinctive Sport
Club going well, 8 or 9 runners at January Jaunt. Already had 4 -5 new recruits this year.
AGM coming up soon.
Moorhaven RC
Nothing significant to report.
Plymouth Harriers
Beginners group going well with another one starting up. Club are actively looking for a new
venue to train from. Weekend was busy with runners at January Jaunt and Westward league..
ECH
The Cornish Marathon went well and raised £3K for charity. Starting a new Couch to 5K
group.
Plymouth Striders
No report.
Tavistock AC
Club did well at SW Indoor Champs in Cardiff and Westward league Cross Country. Also
runners in January Jaunt. Club have started a Couch to 5K group and 36 attended. Also 12
people came along to the Open Track session. The AGM will be held on 22nd January.
Discussions being held about Parkruns in Gulworthy and also in the Meadows.
EVH
The New Year has started well with good results in the SW indoors, Westward league and
January Jaunt. One of the clubs officials Monica Bristow has been short listed for a Herald
SPOTY Award. Memberships now open and coming in well. Ivybridge 10K has been
launched.
COPAC
Still issues with vandalism. PCSO are patrolling at night. Club is looking at ways of funding a
fence around clubhouse which is a requirement of their lease with PCC. Hoping to resolve
issues with water usage by PCC which the club has paid for. Devon Schools Cross Country
this weekend at Stover.
Autumn Trail Run
Martin Exley-Deane has started on the license application Following the Bristol marathon date
change we are now looking at September 11th. The next stage is to meet with Newnham Park
and based on their costings set an entry fee.
Coaching Co-ordinator Report (not present)
No report. Plans for Track sessions have been published. Need to attract more runners to
take part. The miles are taking place this Saturday.
Track Facilities
Issues already explained at Plymouth. No change at Tavistock
Clocks - Paul has the details of all club races. IS race confirmed as 12th June. Both clocks
are back in store.
Composite Team –Details on website of fixtures. Need to publicise to clubs soon as we need
the buy in of juniors and seniors. We also need officials..
Coaching and Officials Courses
New courses planned for early 2016 including LIRF and CIRF. Official’s course in Exeter on
Feb 29th /March 8th now sorted Finalising TMO course locally on Feb 20th. KR to advertise
when agreed.
Finances
Finally got accounts back from accountant. Network made slight loss last year due to
purchases. Accountant has agreed to reduce costs in return for a sponsor deal. Action Clubs
to promote Sponsor where posible. Still need to pay DAG for License.
Winter 3K
The December one went well with 80 runners. Next one on Jan 13th 2016. Help needed
please.
Chip Timing System
We still have booking for Exeter Half Marathon on Feb 13th/14th. Still need further help on the
Sunday. KR has chased details from Peter Ferlie.

Grand Prix 2015
Further discussion held. We need 22 trophies and a budget of £200 has been allocated.
Action KR to purchase trophies. New one will start in March. Agreed to be just for runners,
Better explanation required on website.
Armada Events 2016
Armada Relays
Will not take place this year
AOB



KR to set up meeting with PCC to discuss various issues including City Centre Miles
and funding opportunities for our clubs.
Boxing Day run at Burrator went off well with no reported issues.
Discussions took place on Storm Running club and how best to integrate them with
our group if they wanted to. Agreed to invite them to a future meeting.
Date of next meeting – Monday 8th February 2016 – Windsor House MR2 6.30pm.
