Imperialism - The policy of extending the rule or authority of an empire or nation over foreign countries, or of acquiring and holding colonies and dependencies. (Can you think of any examples of Imperial countries?) Colony - A region politically controlled by a distant country; a dependency. (Can yu think of any examples of a colony?) During the Age of Imperialism, Europe viewed the world as their possession. No where else was this more evident than in India, SE Asia, and Africa.
