You make new friends; and they help you with subjects you have troubles with." - Kaitlyn Advancement Via Individual Determination AVID students receive training on how to strategically ask the right questions and how to help their peers as AVID tutors by using sound questioning techniques. This in turn helps them. AVID students also serve as role models. Oftentimes, they return to the program as special guest speakers, teaching younger AVID students about life at post-secondary. The AVID Parent AVID parents encourage their students to achieve academically, participate in their students’ learning and attend AVID parent and site team meetings. These students often are not realizing their full potential academically.
