Daily Announcements Friday February 19, 2016 We are going to be hosting a school wide service project that will benefit City House of Frisco. City House of Frisco is an organization which provides services to our community’s homeless population. This program provides services to recent graduates from Frisco ISD high schools and helps prepare them for life as adults. We will be holding a Frisco Thon here at Scoggins Middle School and it will be held on April 8th from 4 pm-10pm. The goal is to get students to gain monetary sponsorship for their participation in the 6 hour event and all proceeds will go to City House. Students, from different organizations on campus, will organize each hour with songs, games, guest speakers, and other fun activities. You won’t want to miss this awesome event. Last year we raised almost $14,000 and had over 300 students in attendance! Registration will begin online, February 17th. The cost to register will be $10 and that will include a t-shirt and food and drinks for the entire evening. Permission forms will need to be returned to Ms. Combest. Information has been sent home to your parents through email. Wait……there is MORE! We will be holding the Frisco Thon on the same night as Hunt Middle School and Pioneer Heritage Middle School in a competition to see who can raise the most money. We DON’T want to lose this competition! Let’s show them how well Scoggins can pull together for such a worthy cause! Seahawks, it is time to give back to the community! National Junior Honor Society and Student Council are hosting a canned food drive to benefit Frisco Family Services. Please bring unexpired canned food items to your first period class, February 16-26. The class in each grade level with the most donations will earn a donut party. Attention, all members of the Principal's Advisory Committee! Our February meeting has been moved to Friday, February 26. Please plan to bring your lunch to the library on Friday, February 26 for our next meeting. If you buy your lunch, please plan to go to the front of the lunch line on that day so that we may start right on time. If you are a 7th grade PAC member who eats "C" lunch, please communicate with your teacher that you will need to eat "B" lunch on this day. Ms. Warner looks forward to meeting with you on February 26, and hearing your voice! The next Pay it Forward meeting will be Wednesday, February 24. We will meet in the library at 7:30 and then head outside to greet our Scoggins families. Don’t be late! Listen Up Seahawks! Can you sing or dance? Can you solve a rubix cube in less than a minute? If you have a cool talent, come show it off and try out for the Scoggins talent show. Tryouts will be held March 16 and 17 from 4 – 7pm. To try out you must reserve a slot. You can sign up for a slot outside the Theatre room starting Monday, February 22nd. Ask Mrs. Fig if you have any questions. Not all who try out will make it, so be prepared. Good luck Seahawks!
