Assignments:
1) Discuss Thomas Paine and his pamphlet “Common Sense” and Patrick Henry’s “Give me Liberty or give
me Death”
2) Interpret the Declaration of Independence into the students own words (each group will be assigned
One sentence to break down and rewrite into their own words)

Tuesday
Mode of Instruction/Activities: Vocabulary Journal
Assignments:
1) Label and discuss the different sections of the Declaration of Independence.
2) Each class will create their own “Declaration of Independence”
