Outline – Each One Reach One #2

Each one reach one ~2
How to conquer the fear of reaching out.
Exodus 3:1-22
“Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian,
and he led the flock to the far side of the desert and came to Horeb, the mountain
of God. There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in flames of fire from within a
bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up. So Moses
thought, "I will go over and see this strange sight—why the bush does not burn
up." When the Lord saw that he had gone over to look, God called to him from
within the bush, "Moses! Moses!" And Moses said, "Here I am." "Do not come any
closer," God said. "Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is
holy ground." Then he said, "I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the
God of Isaac and the God of Jacob." At this, Moses hid his face, because he was
afraid to look at God.” Exodus 3:1-6 NIV
“The Lord said, "I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have
heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about
their suffering… So now GO. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring My people the
Israelites out of Egypt.” Exodus 3:7&10 NIV

5 FEARS THAT STOP US FROM REACHING OUT TO PEOPLE.
1. THE FEAR OF __________________________________.
“But Moses said to God, ‘Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the
Israelites out of Egypt?” Exodus 3:11 NIV
(TEV) “‘I am nobody. How can I go ...?”
(NLT) “How can You expect me to lead...?”
(LB) “I’m not the person for a job like that!”
(Msg) “Why me? What makes You think I could ever do that?”
GOD’S RESPONSE: “I will be with you.” Exodus 3:12 NIV
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13 NKJV
2. THE FEAR OF _______________________________.
“But Moses protested, “If I go to the people of Israel and tell them, ‘The God of
your ancestors has sent me to you,’ they won’t believe me. They will ask, ‘Which
god are you talking about? What is his name?’ Then what should I tell them?”
Exodus 3:13 NLT
GOD’S RESPONSE: God said to Moses, “I am who I am! This is what
you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I AM has sent me to you... This is My
name forever, the name by which I am to be remembered from
generation to generation.” Exodus 3:14-15 NIV
When God says, “I am who I am,” it means four things:
1. It means that God is _______________________.
2. It means that God is _______________________.
3. It means that God is _______________________.
4. It means that God is _______________________.
“I, the Lord, do not change.” Malachi 3:6 NIV
3. THE FEAR OF _______________________________.
“But Moses protested again, “Look, they won’t believe me! They won’t do what I
tell them. They’ll just say, ‘The Lord never appeared to you.’” Exodus 4:1 NLT
The Teaching Ministry at Cowplain Evangelical Church
“They won’t trust me. They won’t listen to a word I say. They’re going to say,
‘God? Appear to him? Hardly!’” Exodus 4:1 Msg
GOD’S RESPONSE: “Then the Lord said to him, ‘What is that in your
hand?’ ‘A staff,’ he replied.” Exodus 4:2 NIV
1. A staff is a symbol of Moses’ ____________________.
2. A staff is a symbol of Moses’ ____________________.
3. A staff is a symbol of Moses’ ____________________.
4. THE FEAR OF ________________________________.
“But Moses pleaded with the Lord, “O Lord, I’m just not a good speaker. I never
have been, and I’m not now, even after You have spoken to me. I’m clumsy with
words.” Exodus 4:10 NLT
“I can never think of what to say.” Exodus 4:10 CEV
GOD’S RESPONSE: “Who makes mouths?" the LORD asked him. "Who
makes people so they can speak or not speak, hear or not hear, see or
not see? Is it not I, the Lord? Now GO and do as I have told you. I will
help you speak well, and I will tell you what to say.” Exodus 4:11-12 NLT
“Don’t worry about what you'll say or how you'll say it. The right words will be
there; the Spirit of your Father will supply the words.” Matthew 10:19-20 Msg
5. THE FEAR OF ________________________________.
“But Moses said, “O Lord, please send someone else to do it.” Exodus 4:13 NIV
GOD’S RESPONSE: “Then the Lord became angry with Moses.”
Exodus 4:14 NLT
God: “If I announce that some wicked people are sure to die and you fail to warn
them about changing their ways, then they will die in their sins, but I will hold you
responsible for their deaths.” Ezekiel 33:8 NLT
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and selfdiscipline.” 2 Timothy 1:7 NLT
