On Saturday 4 March 2017 over 5000 of Brisbane’s international and domestic students, along with their friends and relatives, will converge on the City Botanic Gardens to be officially welcomed to the city they now call home. The 2017 City Welcome Festival will be presented by the Lord Mayor and presents a unique opportunity for new students to forge friendships, build connections and share genuine experiences with the Brisbane community. Held in conjunction with the year’s first International Friendship Ceremony, the focus of the 2017 City Welcome Festival will be on enhancing students’ experiences of Brisbane through activities and engagement with Study Brisbane members, community organizations, sporting teams and cultural groups.
