ABOUT
The Study Brisbane City Welcome Festival is the signature international student event each
year in Brisbane, Australia’s new world city.
On Saturday 4 March 2017 over 5000 of Brisbane’s international and domestic students, along with their friends
and relatives, will converge on the City Botanic Gardens to be officially welcomed to the city they now call home.
The 2017 City Welcome Festival will be presented by the Lord Mayor and presents a unique opportunity for new
students to forge friendships, build connections and share genuine experiences with the Brisbane community.
Held in conjunction with the year’s first International Friendship Ceremony, the focus of the 2017 City Welcome
Festival will be on enhancing students’ experiences of Brisbane through activities and engagement with Study
Brisbane members, community organizations, sporting teams and cultural groups.

will be located on the City Botanic Gardens
promenade with excellent access to students
as they enter and explore the Festival.
• Booths will be 3m x 3m and have access
to power.
• Cost: $990 - $1300.

Activation Provider
>> Partners will be allocated an activation zone
on the City Botanic Garden lawns to create
activities that engage students with the city
and each other.
Examples of activities may include:
• Interactive sports and team-building
games
• Involvement of student clubs and societies
from partner’s institution or residence
• Creation of a ‘chill-out zones’
• Demonstrations of arts, music and dance
• Cost: As activation zones contribute
directly towards the aims of the festival of
being engaging and inclusive, small zones
will be provided free in most instances.
• Groups with a stronger commercial focus
or requiring a large space will be priced
