SAT Results—Class of 2015 Klein Independent School District The SAT is a national college admissions examination that measures knowledge in critical reading, mathematics, and writing. Scores range from 200 to 800 on each of the three subtests. Most students take the SAT exam during their junior or senior year in high school. The College Board provides school districts with annual reports of student performance based on the previous graduating class. These data inform the school district of historical trends of student performance on the SAT, demographic information on SAT participants, and serve as an important resource for post-secondary readiness. SAT Participation: Overall, the Class of 2015 SAT test participation increased by 99 students compared to the Class of 2014. Since 2006, the number of SAT participants has increased by 15% (259). While the number of SAT participants has increased in Klein ISD, the percentage of the graduating class participating in SAT testing has declined by 11% since 2006. Although the number and percentage of SAT participants at the campus level fluctuate from year to year, it is important to note that boundary changes occur at the high schools over time. 2006 2007 2008 2009 2010 2011 2012 2013 2014 2015 Klein ISD 1708 1688 1689 1548 1735 2008 1995 1893 1868 1967 Klein HS Klein Collins HS 680 421 634 427 586 469 517 400 531 428 516 512 540 520 516 467 479 466 547 485 Klein Forest HS 342 341 323 294 358 440 381 378 365 396 Klein Oak HS 265 286 311 337 418 540 554 532 557 539 Source: SAT Highlights Report—2006-2015 2006 2007 2008 2009 2010 2011 2012 2013 2014 2015 Klein ISD 68% 66% 61% 56% 58% 66% 64% 59% 57% N/A Klein HS 84% 82% 71% 68% 70% 73% 71% 69% 61% N/A Klein Collins HS 73% 64% 65% 57% 59% 68% 64% 57% 57% N/A Klein Forest HS 54% 56% 50% 44% 50% 58% 54% 48% 48% N/A Klein Oak HS 55% 58% 54% 53% 55% 64% 64% 62% 61% N/A Source: SAT Highlights Report—2006-2015; AEIS/TAPR Reports 2006-2014 Department of Research, Accountability and Data Updated 9/25/2015 Page 1 Klein ISD—SAT Report—Class of 2015 SAT Critical Reading, Mathematics, and Writing Combined Scores: The average SAT Critical Reading, Mathematics, and Writing Combined Score decreased from 1503 for the Class of 2014 to 1497 for the Class of 2015.
