DAY ONE – Depart the USA
Today you’ll depart the USA on your overnight flight to Paris,
France.
DAY TWO – Paris
Upon arrival in Paris, transfer to your hotel. Your river journey
begins in Paris, the magnificent ‘City of Light’. Located in the
heart of the Íle-de-France region, it’s the perfect place to begin
embracing the French culture. The day is free for you to explore on your own or just relax.
DAY THREE – Paris City Tour
After breakfast, you’ll enjoy an included panoramic tour of this
capital city. You’ll see such famous sites and landmarks as the
Louvre, Opéra Garnier, Place Vendôme, the trendy district of Le
Marais on the Right Bank, Place de la Concorde, ChampsÉlysées, Arc de Triomphe, Place de la Bastille, the Trocadéro and
the pièce de rèsistance….the Eiffel Tower. We’ve also allowed
free time for you to explore this amazing city on your own.

DAY FOUR – Embark the MS Amadeus Diamond
In the early afternoon you depart your hotel and embark the MS
Amadeus Diamond, your home for the next seven nights. Enjoy
an afternoon at leisure to unpack, explore the remarkable river
ship or stroll along the Seine. This evening, the ship departs
Paris and the Captain hosts a welcome reception in your honor
with dinner onboard. (Breakfast) (Dinner and evening snack onboard)
DAY FIVE – Conflans Sainte Honorine /
Palace of Versailles / Auvers sur Oise
Following breakfast, you’ll enjoy an included excursion to the
Palace of Versailles, best known for being the site of the vast
royal palace and gardens built by King Louis XIV. Also known
as The Château de Versailles, it has been the scene for several
historic events, not the least of which was the signing of the
Peace Treaty between defeated Germany and the Allies that
brought the First World War officially to an end. Originally the
palace started out as simply a hunting lodge built by Louis XIII,
today it hosts the Museum of France's history. After lunch onboard, you’ll depart for Auvers sur Oise. You will walk thru the

Notre Dame, Caudebec-en-Caux
town on a guided tour where Vincent Van Gogh lived for a
while. See Le Maison de Van Gogh where he died in 1890, as
well as the Chateau at Auvers which was featured on one of Van
Gogh’s paintings. We return to the ship late afternoon.

DAY SIX – Rouen
Today you’ll visit the capital of the Upper Normandy region,
Rouen. It is the historic capital of Normandy and was one of
the most prosperous cities of medieval Europe, noted for its surviving half-timbered buildings and museums. On an included
walking tour, discover the historic districts including Place du
Vieux-Marché, the historic town square that was the site where
Joan of Arc was burnt at the stake and today is dominated by
the church of Saint Joan of Arc. See the gothic Notre Dame
Cathedral, one of the highlights of Rouen. Walk along the Rue
du Gros Horloge, the main street of Rouen, and see the amazing
astronomical clock. The afternoon is free for you to visit museums or meander through the lanes of this quaint city. (Breakfast,
lunch, dinner and evening snack onboard)
DAY SEVEN – Caudebec-en-Caux / Etretat / Honfleur
Awake in Caudebec-en-Caux, a town that has preserved the
13th-century House of the Knights Templar and the Church of
Notre Dame. After breakfast, travel by coach to Etretat where
you enjoy a guided walking tour. See the Castle of Aygues and
the 11th-century Church of Our Lady that houses a CavailleColl organ. See the Old Market, the Manor of the Salamander
in the village center and villas nestled on the slopes. Beautiful,
grand, and bright, the Cliffs of Etretat are known worldwide.
Return to the ship in Caudebec for lunch onboard. This afternoon, travel by coach to Honfleur, a picturesque harbor town.
Postcard perfect, Honfleur is characterized by its houses with
slate-covered frontages which have appeared in many paintings,
including those by Gustave Courbet and Claude Monet. A
local guide will lead you on a walking tour as you meander
through the lanes of this charming town and see some of its historic buildings. Afterwards, return to the ship in Caudebec,
where it remains docked overnight.

DAY EIGHT – Full Day to Normandy
On the full day included tour to Normandy from Caudebec,
you’ll see the now peaceful province of Normandy which is so
very different today than on June 6, 1944. See the sites where
Operation Overlord, one of history’s most decisive battles, led
by General Eisenhower, began with the Allied invasion of German-held Normandy. Travel to Pointe du Hoc, situated on the
Normandy coast near Grandcamp-Maisy, with sweeping views
of the English Channel from atop the cliffs. Drive to Omaha
Beach and the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial in
Colleville-sur-Mer where thousands of white crosses mark the
graves of our military heroes. You’ll have free time during the
excursion before returning to the ship in Caudebec.

DAY NINE – Les Andeles / Giverny
Today, the ship arrives in Les Andeles. The included excursion
takes you to the village of Giverny. The Impressionist painter
Claude Monet (1840-1926) bought a house in Giverny where
he lived from 1883 until his death. See the workshop where he
painted the Nymphéas as well as the “pink and green” house
with Monet's personal collection of Japanese prints. The garden
close to the house is the Clos Normand, reconstituted after
Monet's drawing. Enjoy the afternoon to explore on your own
in Les Andeles. (Breakfast, lunch, dinner and evening snack onboard)
DAY TEN – Paris
Today you’ll sail along the Seine enroute to Paris. In the
evening you’ll gain a different perspective of Paris as you depart
on an ‘Illumination Cruise’ along the river aboard the MS
Amadeus Diamond before returning to her mooring site in Paris
for the night. (Breakfast, lunch, dinner and evening snack onboard)
DAY ELEVEN – Paris / USA
You bid au revior to France and return home with memories of
the life enriching experiences along the Seine and the remarkable history of Normandy. (Breakfast onboard)
