Ryan Brolliar
Ryan Brolliar is not your normal musician. His charisma, ability to connect with
others, and inspiring nature has made him one of the most sought after musicians
in San Diego. He will leave you and anyone else listening with a feeling of
belonging, laughter, and many times… friendship.
Ryan started playing music at the age of 5 in Lake Tahoe, California, studying the
"Suzuki Method" on the piano, where the theory of learning music is believed to be
much like learning a native language. Characteristics of this method include a great
deal of parental involvement, a supportive daily learning environment, and starting
at a very early age. Ryan’s ability to hear and replicate music soon blossomed as he
showed interest and now plays the guitar, clarinet, saxophone, ukulele,
harmonica, accordion, and African drums. This naturally grew into an
enjoyment for entertaining others, as Ryan developed a keen sense of connecting to
and being able to read his audience. His natural ability to make each person in the
room feel like the most important person became more and more evident, creating
a memorable and emotional connection with every one of his performances.
Nicole Arend, Event Coordinator at Westfield Mall UTC, said, “His gregarious
personality and ability to gage the vibe of the room and engage the crowd makes
him an astute and versatile performer. He easily integrates the crowd
happenings.”
Ryan plays many styles of music under the Americana genre, and has put his own
touch on the music he performs.
Brianna McKibben, Marketing Manager with San Diego Dining Group,
shared, “Ryan is an amazingly gifted, talented, multi-faceted musician. His genre
ranges from pop, classic rock, jazz, country, big band swing, and just about
everything in between.”
Ryan presently gives back to the Community of San Diego, using his talents to
bring joy to convalescent patients at Brighton Place, Vi La Jolla, and Bella Vista
Assisted Senior Living facilities. He is also a Community Project Manager for Art
and Music Service Learning events with the San Diego Padres and San Diego
Coalition for the Homeless, where he worked with his students of O'Farrell
Community School to give back to the community of San Diego.
