Lesson 11.2 (connued) ‐ Surface Area of Cylinders
A cylinder is a polyhedron with two congruent parallel bases that are circles.
An altude of a cylinder is a perpendicular segment that joins the planes of the bases.
The height of a cylinder is the length of the altude.
The lateral area of a cylinder is the area of the curved
surface.
The surface area of a cylinder is the sum of the lateral areas and the areas of the 2 circular bases.
