“And let the peace of God rule in your hearts…”Colossians 3:15 Just as every sport has disputes that must be settled by the officials, so the peace of God is the umpire that settles questions as to what God’s will is. Vickie made a real effort to move forward in regards to getting ready for the ministry trip to Peru but due to ongoing health challenges, the commitment to lead a ladies Bible study, and other obligations we began to question the wisdom of making a ministry trip of this magnitude during the winter months when her health is even more fragile. Sometimes opportunities to serve God can seem so right and yet if God’s peace is lacking, it’s the wrong choice. So it was with disappointment (but with God’s peace reigning in her heart) that she informed the ladies she would not be going to Peru. She is very thankful for your prayers in regards to this matter. Your prayers for Alan and the team in the computer department are also appreciated as they keep busy and challenged meeting the technical requests of our missionaries worldwide. Vickie is once again hosting a ladies’ Bible study in our home and goes over to do office work with the Personnel Department at NTM Headquarters, as health allows. A young couple with a new baby recently rented the house next door to us. Please pray for God given opportunities to interact with Victor and Sara and that a meaningful friendship would begin. In the early part of August, we were blessed to spend time with Sam and Abbie in Ohio. Then we drove on to Maine to spend time with Caleb and April in one of their favorite vacation spots. Some great memories were made! Here are a few family photos.
