The Cabell Midland Marching Knights Corporate Partner Program is
a great opportunity for your business to support the high school
band program at Cabell Midland. The Marching Knights have a
tradition of excellence since the beginning of the high school in
1994. The Marching Knights sincerely hope you choose to support
these great kids as they pursue another outstanding season and
continue their traditions of excellence in music and marching.

The Cabell Midland High School Marching Knights The Marching Knights under the direction of
Mr. Tim James, has a membership of over
150 students this season. In the past, the
band has traveled to the Peach Bowl, Orange
Bowl, Gator Bowl, Disney World, Dollywood
and Toronto, Canada for performances while
receiving Grand Champion several times at
Bowl Games of America (BGA) band
competitions.
The Marching Knights participated in 6
competitions during the 2013 competition
season earning Grand Champion in 5 of those
contests. The Marching Knights were
awarded Grand Champion for the third
consecutive year at the Marshall Tri-State
Band Festival and were awarded Grand
Champion for the second consecutive year at
the West Virginia Band Invitational. Most
recently the Marching Knights were named
the Honor Band from the 2014 West Virginia
Strawberry Festival parade.
This past season the Marching Knights had 5
members earn WV All State Band honors and
63 members earn All County Band honors.
There were 19 members who participated in
the Morehead State Honor Band and 10 who
participated in the Marshall University Honor
Band. This past May, the Jazz Band received
superior ratings at Kings Island’s Music in the
Parks festival. The Jazz Band hosted their
first international jazz dinner show at CMHS.
A big success!
This year the band will be traveling to several
competitions including a Bands of America
competition in Dayton, OH and a return visit
to Loris High School in Loris, SC to participate
in Loris Band Days competition.
The Marching Knights’ competition show for
this season is entitled Broken: A Tale of
Annabel Lee, which is inspired by the
poem, Annabel Lee, written by Edgar
Allen Poe.
The band is made up of extremely
talented and dedicated young men and
women who work hard to put their best
out on the field. Your support of the

greatly appreciated!
