PLEASE JOIN US as we share this 13 Day, LIFE-CHANGING experience with you, walk ing through
the land of the Bible, the land of our Lord. This Pilgrimage will be different as we spend 3 nights in
the Galilee, 4 nights in Jerusalem, & 3 nights in Eilat (on the Red Sea) where we will journey into
the Kingdom of Jordan, to explore the ancient city of PETRA. (Remember Indiana Jones?) plus
spend time cruising on the Red Sea & exploring the sites & wonders of the Negev Desert.
Karl & Jan Whiteman have a deep love for Israel & for bringing
the Bible alive. With the help of co-hosts Bob & Dee Vaage, & our
expert guide, Jane Ben-Ari, they will lead in Bible lessons each day,
connecting the Bible to the holy sites we visit. You will be in the
hands of experienced tour leaders, as this is Karl's 9th & Jan's 6th

MONDAY, January 30 Minneapolis (MSP) (via Newark) to TEL AVIV (TLV)
Departing from Minneapolis in the morning, we will connect with our mid-afternoon Continental/United B-777 flight
from Newark to Tel Aviv, Israel. Those traveling from cities other than Minneapolis will meet this group in Newark.

TUESDAY January 31st CEASAREA, MEGIDDO (Armageddon), MT. ARBEL
We arrive in Tel Aviv at 9:15 am (really just 19 hours after we left MSP), meet Jane BenAri,
our wonderful guide, & drive north to visit Ceasarea by the Sea built by King Herod, the
site of major events in the lives of Peter & Paul. We visit Tel Megiddo with 22 cities built
on top of each other (this is the Biblical Armageddon), We will drive through Nazareth
& travel by way of Cana on our way to the top of Mt. Arbel for our first spectacular view
of the Sea of Galilee. We spend the next 3 nights at Nof Ginossar, a beautiful deluxe, Kibbutz hotel located on the
shore of the Sea of Galilee. While there, we will also visit & view the 1st Century “JESUS BOAT” (D)
WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY February 1st & 2nd BETHSAIDA, CAPERNAUM, TABGHA, BOAT TRIP SEA OF
GALILEE, MT. OF BEATITUDES, GOLAN HEIGHTS, CAESAREA PHILIPPI, SEPPHORIS
These 2 days will be busy as we will have prayer at Capernaum & see the site of St. Peter’s home
& the synagogue where Jesus taught, & then walk on the seashore at Tabgha where he called his
disciples to become “fishers of men”. We will view the place where Jesus preached the Sermon on
the Mount & various other sites mentioned in the Gospel narratives. We will also enjoy a scrumptious
lunch of freshly caught “St. Peter’s Fish” at Kibbutz En Gev. We will travel to Bethsaida, the home of
some of the early disciples before heading north to Caesarea Philippi, where Peter said to Jesus
“You are the Christ, the Son of the living God”, with its beautiful nature preserves. And finally, a visit to Sepphoris
which was the largest city in Galilee during the time of Jesus. The excavations here are amazing!
We will also offer a chance for you to re-affirm your Baptism in the Sea of Galilee (B,D, +1L)

FRIDAY, February 3 JORDAN RIVER, BEIT SHEAN, DEAD SEA, QUMRAN, ROAD TO JERUSALEM
Today we head south to visit a newly discovered Roman city of Beit Shean with its theater & impressive columns
along the Cardo. On our way to Jerusalem we’ll continue south through the Jordan Valley, past Jericho to Qumran
where we’ll view the caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. We’ll stop at the scenic overlook at Ein Gedi
(where David wrote many of the Psalms) & then up to the Holy City of Jerusalem.
We’ll stay the next 4 nights at the Leonardo Jerusalem Hotel in Jerusalem. (B,D)

SATURDAY, SUNDAY & MONDAY, February 3 , 4 , & 5
MT. OF OLIVES,GARDEN OF GETHEMANE, WESTERN WALL
& TUNNELS, CITY OF DAVID, CITY OF JERUSALEM, ISRAELI MUSEUM,
YAD-VASHEM, MT ZION, VIA DOLOROSA, GARDEN TOMB + MORE
At the top of the Mt. of Olives, we’ll begin our pilgrimage with a walk
down to the Garden of Gethsemane. Throughout the next 3 days we will explore Jerusalem, both New & Old.
We will pray in the dungeon below the House of Caiaphas, & visit the City of David. There will be time to pray at
the Western Wall, & walk through the tunnels under/along the western wall of the ancient temple. We’ll view
archeological finds under the city as well as above. The Rabbi’s Teaching Steps in the Ophel will allow you to
truly walk where Jesus walked. Enjoy a visit to the Israeli Museum, viewing the Dead Sea Scrolls & a 1st century
model of Jerusalem in the time of Jesus. We will spend some somber moments together at Yad-Vashem
(the Holocaust Museum). In Old Jerusalem we’ll be immersed in the sounds, sights
& smells of this ancient city & experience the Cardo in the Jewish Quarter. Our
visit to the Old City continues with visits to Mt. Zion, the place of the Last Supper,
Herod’s Antonia Fortress, the Pools of Bethesda at the Church of St. Anne, the
Via Dolorosa & then finishing our final day in Jerusalem with a short communion
service at the Garden Tomb. On one evening in Jerusalem, we will gather for
reflection & sharing at our hotel. (B,D)
TUESDAY, February 6th MASADA, DEAD SEA, NEGEV DESERT, EILAT (on the Red Sea)
We bid farewell to the Holy City & head down from Jerusalem toward the Dead Sea. Our adventure today will start
with taking a cable car to the top of Masada, where the Jewish people made their last stand against the Romans in
72-73 AD. Following a morning of exploring this amazing place, we’ll head south along the Dead Sea through the
Negev Desert to the southernmost city in Israel, EILAT. We will stop along the way for those who wish to
experience swimming in the salty waters of the Dead Sea. For the next 3 nights we’ll enjoy the comfort
& hospitality of the Dan Panorama Hotel in Eilat. (B,D)
WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY February 7th & 8th EILAT, CRUISING THE RED SEA, PETRA (in Jordan)
We’ll visit the world famous Underwater Observatory & later on that morning we’ll
cruise the Red Sea on our Private Yacht (Including lunch, snorkeling & swimming).
Also while in Eilat, we will have a full-day tour to exciting PETRA (in Jordan) (one of the
7 Wonders of the World). We cross the border at Eilat & drive up to PETRA where we’ll
spend the whole day (including lunch) exploring this magnificent historical/Biblical site of the
Nabatean civilization – this city is carved into the pink rock. (You may remember it from the movie “Raiders of the Lost Ark”)
At the end of both of these unforgettable days, we’ll return to Eilat for dinner & overnight. (B,L,D)
FRIDAY, February 10th KING SOLOMON’S MINES, NEGEV DESERT, MITZPE RAMON, AVDAT, WILDERNESS
OF ZIN, SDE BOKER, BERSHEVA, ELAH VALLEY, ABU GHOSH (Farewell Dinner), TLV
Leave Eilat early morning & drive through the fascinating Negev Desert, passing King Solomon’s Mines to the town
of Mitzpe Ramon, for a magnificent view of the Great Crater. Continue to Avdat, an ancient Nabatean city which
supported a population of 100,000 people in the 5th Century. We continue into the desert proper to Kibbutz Sde
Boker, the home of Israel's first Prime Minister, David Ben-Gurion. We walk into the desert in single file on a narrow
path in a crevice between two high precipices & after 30 minutes arrive at a waterfall & natural pool in the middle of
the desert. This is the fabled Wilderness of Zin. Continue to the city of Bersheva, passing the site of Abraham’s
Well, to the Valley of Elah, where David killed Goliath & defeated the Philistine Army - we’ll stop at the exact spot.
Then it’s on to Abu Ghosh for our farewell dinner. We will then travel to TLV to check in for a late evening departure
to Newark & home on Saturday, a little tired, but overwhelmed by what we have seen & experienced together.

SATURDAY February 11th Arrive USA & Journey Homeward
We arrive early in the morning in Newark & catch our connecting flight back to Minneapolis, arriving mid-day.

This is a “One-in-a-Kind” Adventure. We will be walking into a number of beautiful areas, & often on uneven pavement &

Security Concerns. Karl has been to Israel (& Jordan) 8 times the last 26 years during the tensions
in Israel as well as numerous other countries around the world. Due to the guides, travel leadership,
Israeli travel agent, bus lines & hotels we use, there have been no problems or any concerns about safety.
In fact, not one Christian pilgrim on any tour to Israel has ever been injured in the last 26+ years.
We stay at good hotels & we always keep an eye out for the safety of all.
