2. Activity Stations
LARGE GROUP WELCOME:
• WELCOME KIDS: Have new kids come up and ask how old they are or what grade they are in.
• KIDS PRAY: Welcome Jesus
• OFFERING: Who remembers Moses? We learned about him a couple months ago. Well, when the
Israelites were wandering through the dessert God told them to build a tabernacle, a place to worship,
and there was going to be an offering taken to build it. You know what?! The people gave so much that
God told them they needed to stop. In Ex. 36:6-7 “So the people were restrained from bringing, for the
material they had was sufficient to do all the work, and more.” What an amazing thing!
• ANNOUNCEMENTS:
• ELEMENTARY SPECIFIC:
o Reward those who brought back their Take Home Challenge!
o Devotional thought from Take Home Reading Challenge
SERIES MEMORY VERSE: Is. 6:8
II. ONE THOUGHT MESSAGE- ONLY JESUS
BIBLE STORY: Isaiah 53
OBJECT LESSON:
Name What They Do
Name a series of job titles and ask the kids what the person does (Electrician, Construction Worker, Mechanic,
Doctor, Heart Surgeon, Teacher, Author, etc.)
SAY – Now can a Mechanic do heart surgery? Can a Veterinarian fix my car? Now sometimes there are
exceptions. There are some doctors that can fix cars. Maybe there are some teachers that are super good at
fixing the electricity in your house. But today, we are going to learn about a man that had one job and only He
could do it. No one else. Only Jesus.
DVD LESSON: Isaiah Preached about the Messiah; Session 5, Unit 13
SEGUE:
Every single book in the Bible points to Jesus. From the very beginning in Genesis God had this plan for His
Son to come and save the world. Only Jesus could do that. We just saw a video about a man named Isaiah
who was told by God that Jesus would come to save the world. Can anyone guess how many years it would be
from when Isaiah heard from God and Jesus came to earth?! 700 YEARS! Crazy huh?!
BIBLE STORY:
• In today’s Bible story we learned that WAY before Jesus was born, God let a man named Isaiah know
that He had a plan for all people everywhere.
• God knew and saw what sin did to people. Such a holy (set apart) God can not be around sin. Out of
wanting to be with us He sent His one and ONLY Son, Jesus, to die for us. When Jesus came, he
destroyed the wall sin had built between us and God
PRAY:
God, we thank you that you love us so much that you sent your Son to die on a cross for us. Please come
meet and talk with us today. We want to know you more. Amen.
PERSONAL EXAMPLE:
Tell a story about when you had to trust only Jesus and not your own strength or use example below.
(Insert your own story)
There is this city in Alaska and its called Juneau. Now Juneau is on the water, but it’s not an island. Its on a
bay. Now this city is beautiful and it’s right at the bottom of a mountain. People go there often and lots of
people live there. But the craziest thing about this city is there is only one way in. You can’t drive from Juneau
to Seattle. The only way in or out of the city is by boat or seaplane. Literally the only way these people can get
food is if they grow it or bring it in by boat or seaplane. This city kinda reminds me of heaven. There is only one
way to get there. Only Jesus. No matter how nice I am. No matter how well I listen to my parents. No matter
how many nice things I do. It is only Jesus that can get me to heaven.
HOW DOES THIS RELATE TO US:
No matter how hard we try we can’t get to heaven on our own. If we can’t do it on our own, how do we get
there?
1) Repent – it means to turn from what you were doing (demonstrate making a 180 degree turn)
2) Ask Jesus into your heart. Romans 10:13 “For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be
saved.”
CHRIST CONNECTION:
• Jesus knew why He was sent to earth. He knew He was sent for you and me.
• Jesus knew that He was our only way to God and without Him we will never be in paradise. Being away
from God is the ultimate punishment.
• But here is the really awesome part…Jesus didn’t just die for you and me and the people in this room.
He died for EVERYONE! He died for mean people. He died for nice people. He died for people that
don’t even know Him yet. Our job is to let people know about Jesus.
POINT OF DECISION:
We talked all about Jesus today and the sacrifice He made. We talked about how He knew He would have to
die for us, but everything that Jesus did is done. When He rose from the dead everything was finished. But
now it’s up to you. Today I want to give everyone the opportunity to choose only Jesus.
(Ask the Holy Spirit to direct this portion. Think of your audience and use examples that would relate to them.)
• Ask if any kids would like to ask Jesus into their heart for the first time.
• Ask if any kids want to ask Jesus to come into their heart again. Maybe they have said it before, but
want to do it again.
• Pray for kids to have boldness to share the story of Jesus.
