1. Each pen of five division exhibitor is required to pay a fee $115 per pen of five (5)
entered. Entries are to be mailed to the National Western Stock Show or enter online at www.nationalwestern.com. All fees must be paid in U.S. funds.
Each pen of three division exhibitor is required to pay a fee of $105 per pen of three
(3) entered. Entries are to be mailed to the National Western Stock Show or enter online at www.
nationalwestern.com. All fees must be paid in U.S. funds.
2. All animals must be registered with the American Simmental Association, having a
legible tattoo and be 1/2-blood or higher percentage Simmental. Any animal not having a legible
tattoo, firebrand, or freezebrand is ineligible and will be barred from showing. Original registration
papers must accompany all animals at time of check-in.
3. Purebred and percentage divisions are offered in all shows.The same animals cannot be
shown in both a pen of 5 and a pen of 3. Animals competing in the purebred classes must all be 7/8blood Simmental or higher. Animals competing in the percentage classes must be 1/2-blood
Simmental or higher. If not all the animals in the pen quailfy as purebred Simmental, the entire pen
will be exhibited in a percentage class.
4. All female and bull pen entries will be weighed and measured at time of check-in.,
which will begin at 9:00am Friday Jan.13th, 2017 in the yards. Frame scores using Beef Improvement
Federation Guidelines and the most current EPD’s on all entries will be collected. All data will be
printed in the show program and provided to the judge to use in conjuction with visual appraisal.
5. On bull entries, scrotal circumference measurements will be taken, plus each bull will
be ultrasounded by a certified technician during check-in, at the owner’s expense, with the fee payable to CSA at the time of ultrasounding.
6. Animals that have not been processed will not be eligible to show. CSA reserves the
right to bar any animal/exhibitor from showing that does not meet the requirements of this show.
7. CSA management reserves the right to modify classes as it sees fit in order to facilitate
a more uniform showing. Classes will be divided after check-in, according to the total days of age of
the pen.
8. Exhibitors participating in the Power Simmental classes are required to enter and pay
the $250 gold-level participation fee directly to CSA. Exhibitors may download an entry form off
www.coloradosimmental.com or request a form from CSA, 24614 Road G, Sugar City, CO 81076.
Rules printed on the form are binding. The winning “Power Simmental” (either bull or female) will
be selected at The One Sale on Monday, Jan. 16, 2017.
The Colorado Simmental Association offers $1,000 of the premiums in the following bull
and female pen classes and the National Western Stock Show offers $1,000 of the premiums. First
place in each individual class will receive $75 and the remainder of the premium money will be
awarded through third place on a graduated basis to the other entries exhibiting, after the show has
been completed. CSA also awards championship trophies. Premiums will be paid directly from the
National Western Stock Show office.
