Jackson Hole Nomination for ORF’s
“Danube – Europe’s Amazon”

ORF’s successful “UNIVERSUM”-documentary “Danube – Europe’s Amazon” has been nominated
at the Wildlife Film Festival “Jackson Hole” in the category “Best Wildlife Habitat Program”.
The first part of this astonishing documentary inspired more than 600.000 TV-viewers in Austria last
year and had already been awarded as “Best Film, City of Pamplona Award” at the Telenatura
Festival in 2012.
The comprehensive cinematic portrait of Europe's second longest river presents scenes of
breathtaking beauty along the banks of the Danube, and investigates the tension between humans
and nature, civilisation and wilderness. It is a co-production by ORF, ScienceVision, BR and NDR in
association with ARTE and ICPDR, directed by Rita and Michael Schlamberger.
