Objectives for Learning Period #1
 Students will learn how to initiate a conversation in Spanish.
 Students will be introduced to basic Spanish words and sounds that will help them
grammatically for further knowledge of the Spanish language in writing and speaking.
 Students will be able to explain the difference between definite and indefinite articles in the
Spanish language.
 Students will learn basic greetings and farewells, commands often used in class, recite numbers
0-49; Recite Spanish alphabet and pronounce vowels, tell time, read a calendar, tell the date
(month and year) Name the season and talk about weather. Identify Spanish pronouns.

masculine, feminine nouns. Learn vocabulary related to home, school, transportation, food,
