Lesson 10: Simple Interest
Classwork
To find the simple interest, use:
Interest = Principal × Rate × Time
𝐼 =𝑃×π‘Ÿ×𝑑
𝐼 = π‘ƒπ‘Ÿπ‘‘

π‘Ÿ is the percent of the principal that is paid over a period of time (usually per year).
ο‚§
𝑑 is the time.
ο‚§
π‘Ÿ and 𝑑 must be compatible. For example, if π‘Ÿ is an annual interst rate, then 𝑑 must be written in years.
