Our professionals combine the use of technology with their knowledge and coaching skills to deliver a simple and effective means to developing your skills as a golfer. Our tools provide us the information we require to guide you along the most efficient path to your improvement. Flightscope is the premier ball launch monitor in the golf industry. Using Doppler radar technology Flightscope tracks the flight of the golf ball in its entirety. Flightscope measures 24 variables relating to the ball club and swing. Flightscope is both a valuable teaching and club fitting tool. Utilized by our professionals to better the performance of your equipment and your skills as a player. V1 Video Software provides our professionals and students the ability to view their golf swing at 300 frames per second. Video allows the player to see and distinguish between what they feel and what they do in their golf swing. Video is a valuable teaching and learning tool as it allows both the teacher and the student to prioritize the improvement process while capturing the student performing drills, exercises and swing to see positive change and swing improvements Boditrack captures the golfer’s weight movement patterns in both address and through the motion of their entire swing. This technology compliments video by providing a detailed look at a player’s weight position at every point in the golf swing. The position of your weight has an influence on the efficient motion of the club through the swing, path, impact position, solid contact and direction of the shot. Shot By Shot is a statistical analysis program that enables players at all levels to accurately identify the strengths and weaknesses of their game. It measures their performance in each component of their golf game against that of a target handicap group. It is useful for both coach and student as golfers can direct the time spent on practice towards the appropriate components of their game, accelerating their improvement. Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) is the world’s leading educational organization and research facility dedicated to the study of how the human body functions in relation to the golf swing. Your Pro Shop at St. Charles offers the most comprehensive fitting program in the province. Fitting golf equipment is an important process for all golfers. Properly fitted clubs enhance your performance and play a significant role in the development of your swing. Using improperly fitted golf equipment can lead to a swing of compensations to accommodate the equipment. Fitting and instruction go hand in hand. Our fitting process and tools provide us the ability to find the best clubs for your game, without bias to a particular brand. Our experience as instructors allows us to fit equipment that encourages proper swing development. We are fortunate to be the regional fitting center for Titleist, while additionally being the primary fitters in Winnipeg for Ping and TaylorMade. This position provides us considerably more options in shafts and heads than other club fitters, making our program the most comprehensive fitting program of any Club on the prairies. Your entire bag can be fitted, from driver to wedges. Putter fitting is as important as the other 13 clubs in your bag...and we do that also. St. Charles is one of three EDEL putter fitters in Canada. The EDEL system uses various putter styles and offset types to find the putter that you aim best. We measure loft, head weight, shaft flex and counterbalancing to optimize speed control. Optimizing aim and speed control will result in more putts dropping in the hole. www.edelgolf.com Properly fitted equipment is essential to maximize your performance and enjoyment of the game. Juniors can start in our instruction programs as early as age 5 and become members at age 9. We truly believe that golf can become one of a child’s primary sports. It is a sport that challenges them athletically, while providing an environment nurturing life skills such as honesty, integrity, responsibility, confidence and sportsmanship. Our instruction program provides an avenue for beginning players to take their early footsteps into the game and extends all the way to players who have competitive ambitions locally, provincially and nationally. Our golf events provide our juniors the opportunity to play in individual and team competitions, while also providing fun events where score is the last thing that matters! In the past, an unofficial reciprocal play agreement existed among the private golf clubs of Canada, whereby, a tee time could usually be set up with the payment of a green fee. This practice will continue for the vast majority of Clubs. The following Clubs have agreed to, on a limited basis, provide golfing members of St. Charles Country Club with a tee time on a complimentary basis – as will St. Charles provide for their members. The intent of these agreements is to permit full active golf members in good standing to have full playing and clubhouse privileges at the reciprocal club, subject to the respective host club’s local Rules, Regulations, Dress Code, Policies and Procedures. Guests are permitted with a green fee. M G A To u r n a m e n t s Mundie Putter League J i m my D oy l e S e n i o r Putter League Ladies Nassau League This is an inter-club event beginning in the Spring of each year. The Club team consists of 8 players. 4 players are selected by the Mundie Putter League Captain, and the others are determined by the 4 lowest scores of the Saturday morning. These matches are then played every Monday evening. To enter, please inquire at the Pro Shop or with the Mundie Putter League Captain. In 1993, the competition adopted the above name in honour of the late Jim Doyle who passed away suddenly in 1992. Ten Winnipeg clubs compete for the Championship on the successive Tuesday afternoons from mid-May until mid-July. Matches are decided on a Best Ball Stroke Play basis - a format which assures that a match will not be decided until the 18th green. Each Club fields 3 teams made up of 2 male members who have reached their 55th birthday by Sept. 1st of the current year. Qualifying rounds may be played any day of the week and are co-ordinated through the Pro Shop. All senior mail members are urged to enter this very enjoyable weekly competition. An inter-club event beginning in the Spring of each year, concluding at the end of June. The St. Charles team consists of 6 players. It is comprised of the reigning Club Champion, 4 players selected based on the weekly lowest handicap indexes and a player selected by the Nassau Captain. These matches are played every Monday evening.
