Cave
Painting
Pupils will discover how archaeologists
uncover the stories of the past and then
carry out their own mini dig. They will use
real archaeological equipment and sort
the finds that they uncover. They will learn
about three Prehistoric periods; the Stone
Age, the Bronze Age and the Iron Age.
Pupils will get the chance to explore
a range of real Stone Age tools, learn
about flint knapping and create their
own replica hand axe or arrowhead to
take home with them.
Following an introduction to prehistoric
cave paintings and an exploration of
animal finds, pupils will be asked to
create their own class cave painting using
natural materials.
