He and his wife Linda have been married for ten and a half years and reside in Brentwood. He has two children, and two grandchildren. Ed served as a teacher and administrator for 19 years in Williamson County. He served in the capacity of principal at David Lipscomb Middle School and also taught Bible there until he retired in 2000. Ed is also the dean of the Nashville School of Preaching. Bob completed his Master’s Degree (from BVBID) while serving at the Greenbrier church of Christ in Greenbrier, AR. Bob and his wife Sheryl have been married 29 years. They have three children, five grandchildren, and are awaiting two more grandsons later this year. Juliet since 1995. He has a Masters in Community Counseling from Mississippi College and a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Southern Mississippi. Bud is also a Certified Family Therapist and Master Addictions Counselor. He and his wife, Cindy, have been married for 35 years and have 3 children. DON WILLIAMS - Fellowship Hall July 18—Targeted Audience: Alzhiemers/Dementia Don Williams is a third generation preacher, following in the footsteps of his grandfather and father. He graduated from FHU in 1979 and received his Masters degree in Ministry from Harding Graduate School of Religion in 1984. Don served as a minister for 30 years. Since May of 2008 he has worked as the Executive Director of North Alabama Christian Children's Home in Florence, Alabama. He serves as a deacon for the Florence Boulevard congregation in Florence, Al. Don has been married to his wife, Leisa, for 33 years. They have 2 sons, and 3 grandchildren. BILL MCDONALD - Fellowship Hall July 25—Targeted Audience: Grief Bill McDonald received his Bachelor of Arts from David Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee in 1975 with a degree in public communications. In 1976 he graduated from John A. Gupton College of Mortuary Science, also in Nashville with a degree in Mortuary Science. Bill is married to the former Joy Whitesell of Sarasota, Florida and they have four grown children and six grandchildren. He has worked as a minister, youth minister, and funeral director for the past 30 years. He serves on the Board of Hickman Community Hospital. Bill is a member of the Centerville church of Christ and serves as an elder of that congregation. August 8—Targeted Audience: Leaders Wives in the church Clara A. Shannon is the wife of Roy Shannon who has been an elder for over 30 years. She teaches ladies and children’s classes regularly, usually writing her own material. She is retired from years of catering and bookkeeping. She enjoys herb gardening and having guests in their home. Juliet Church of Christ June 6—August 29 TEMPEE HOWELL - Room 208 August 15—Targeted Audience: Leaders Wives in the Home Tempee Howell has had the privilege of serving the Lord alongside her husband, Howard, in youth ministry for 48 years, in bus ministry for 45 years, in prison ministry as a secretary and teacher for 15 years. She has taught teen girls for most of 48 years, and ladies classes for 17 years. Tempee and her husband have 4 children and 12 amazingly precious grandchildren. God also brought about 15 other children into their home that they helped raise for varying lengths of time. JEREMY HALL - Fellowship Hall August 22—Targeted Audience: Young Adults Jeremy Hall is a native of Trenton, TX. He graduated from Freed-Hardeman University with a B.S. in Biblical Studies. He is currently finishing his thesis in Natural Theology for the completion of his M.A. in New Testament Studies from FHU. Jeremy recently became the pulpit minister at Millview church of Christ. He is married to the former Sarah Ferguson and they are expecting twin boys in August of this year. PHILIP JENKINS - Fellowship Hall - August 29 Targeted Audience: (6th-12th grade Parents) Mentoring Philip Jenkins grew up in Hamilton, AL and in Nashville, TN. He is a 2006 Freed-Hardeman University graduate and has been doing full-time ministry ever since. He serves as chairman of the board of Evangelism University, a program specializing in helping teenagers share the Gospel. He and his wife, Laura, began working with Mt. Juliet in 2010, and have a passion for helping teenagers know God. They have a son named Lucas, who is 11 months old, and they are expecting their second child in November. There he met his wife, Tracy, and they were married in 1997. They have one daughter, Presley. Tim was baptized at Mt. Juliet in 2000. He has taught adult Bible class for several years and served as a deacon for 6 years. He currently oversees the Wilson County Jail Ministry. Tim began serving as the Education Minister at Mt. Juliet in 2011. WALT LEAVER—June 13 - I Samuel 1-8 Walt Leaver is currently the pulpit minister for Brentwood Hills church of Christ. He has been employed by Lipscomb University since 1994 and serves as Vice President for University Relations. He is a board member for Character Counts! Nashville, Green Hills Family YMCA, Rotary Club of Brentwood, Nashville Inner City Ministry, and World Christian Broadcasting. He and his wife, Carol, live in Nashville and have 4 daughters and 6 grandchildren. Mitch Poskevich was born into a loving, God-fearing family and was raised in Waverly, TN. He has been at MJcoC for 14 years. Mitch has been an active part of the church including working with and teaching the Youth Group, the Twenty Somethings and Melting Pot Classes, as well as other adult classes. He enjoys studying and teaching God’s Word. Mitch is thankful to be a part of such a growing and vibrant congregation, one that places such an emphasis on helping others and showing them the love of God. He grew up in Garland, TX and has a B.A. in Bible, a Bachelor of Social Work, and a Master of Ministry degree all from FreedHardeman University. He is presently working towards his Master of Divinity degree from Harding University. Daniel has been a preaching minister for 13 years and is currently with the Hillsboro church of Christ. Daniel and his wife, Heather, have been married for almost 10 years and have been blessed with two children, a 5-year old daughter and a 2-year old son. Bill Watkins was born in Georgia and raised in Tennessee. He is the son of a gospel preacher and he and his brother are both preachers. In 1972, he married Beverly, the daughter of a preacher and they have 5 children, and 20 grandchildren. He was formally educated at FreedHardeman University, David Lipscomb University, Southern Christian University, and Florida International University. Bill has been one of the ministers of the Crieve Hall church of Christ since March 6, 2005. DOUG WILLIAMS—August 1 - I Kings 17-II Kings 2 Dale Jenkins was born in Hamilton, AL and grew up in Birmingham. He is an alumnus of Freed-Hardeman University and completed graduate work at Southern Christian University. He serves on the Board of Maywood Christian Camp, the FHU Advisory Board, the Board of Directors of Heritage Christian University, EXPOSURE Youth Camp and EQUIP. Dale has been preaching for over thirty years and is currently with the Spring Meadows church of Christ in Spring Hill, TN. He and his wife Melanie have two sons, one grandson, and a granddaughter due in November. The Plan MITCH POSKEVICH—August 8 - Jonah John Michael Kennedy became the Involvement Minister at Mt. Juliet church of Christ in August, 2011. While growing up in Lebanon, TN his family attended the Mt. Juliet congregation from 2000–2003. John Michael attended Freed-Hardeman University where he received his B. A. in Bible. The year 2008 brought many wonderful changes as John Michael married his best friend, Lindsey, began work as a youth minister in Millington, TN, and continued his education through Harding School of Theology (M. Div.). Elias Roque graduated in Panama from The Bible School of Americas in 2007. He has been preaching since he was 16 years old with his father and grandfather in various cities in Honduras. He has been on several Mission trips to various Latin American countries. He married the love of his life, Kristi, in August of 2009, and they now have two sons, Eli and Noah. Elias and Kristi began the Hispanic congregation here at Mt. Juliet in October of 2009. DALE JENKINS—July 4 - II Samuel 1-7 Auditorium Doug Williams was born and raised in Indianapolis, IN. He moved to TN in 1996 and first attended MJcoC in 1998. He and his wife, Sharla, have been married for 18 years and have 2 children. Doug is employed at Pinnacle Business Products and currently serves as Vice President and General Manager. He have served as a deacon at MJcoC since 2004 and worked in the education program as a teacher in both children and adult classes. Doug feels like MJcoC is home and has felt that way since day one. “We were so blessed early on to have been spiritually fed from such a loving and caring congregation of God’s people, and now we are blessed to be able to raise our family in that same loving and caring congregation.” from Bill Dayton is the Evangelist for the Owenton church of Christ. Since establishing the work in Owenton, thanks to the Lehman Ave church of Christ, Mt Juliet campaign in June of 2011, and hundreds of prayer warriors and supporters, 11 souls have been added to the Lord’s church and 6 have been restored. Bill has been preaching the gospel for 26 years. Twenty of those years have been spent in stateside mission work. Bill has preached in New Jersey, Illinois, Missouri, Maryland and Kentucky. He and his wife Laura have 8 children and 5 grandchildren. He is currently pursuing his Master’s degree in Bible. PHIL WAGGONER—August 22 - II Kings 17-25 Phil Waggoner served as youth minister at Mt. Juliet church of Christ from August 2001 to August 2010. He graduated from Freed-Hardeman University in May 2001 with a degree in Bible and a minor in Business. Phil is currently working with Latin American Missions (LAM) under the oversight of the Forrest Park church of Christ in Valdosta, GA. Besides leading numerous mission trips in El Salvador and Honduras, he is also coordinating Preacher Workshops and Future Minister’s Training Camps in Central America. He also works with the Children’s Home in Panama and Future Ministers Training Program at Bible School of America. JOEY SPANN—August 29 - Daniel 1-6 Joey Spann graduated from Hume-Fogg High School and David Lipscomb College. He started teaching at EzellHarding during the 1974-75 school year. In 2007, Joey went to Goodpasture and now teaches 8th grade Bible. He has served as minister or youth minister at Smith Springs, Vultee, Northeast, Shady Grove, Old Hickory, West Nashville Heights, Pasquo, and now at Burnette Chapel where he is also an elder.
