Precautions
Due to the potentially harmful mercury
content (the World Heath Organisation’s
number one environmental poison),
amalgam waste should never be thrown
away with general waste. It should be
stored safely within the appropriate
container. Solutions should not be added
and the mercury suppressant foam
should not be removed. Care should be
taken that the lid is tightly secured and
that mercury vapours are not inhaled.

The PHS Wastemanagement Waste Amalgam container
is designed to help protect staff from the potentially
harmful effects of mercury inhalation, by containing an
integral mercury suppressant foam.

Health and Safety Precautions: Fixer and developer
wastes should never be mixed and so care should be
taken that the correct containers are used. Care should
also be taken when lifting full containers.
Lead Foil Disposal
The PHS Wastemanagement Lead Foils container
offers dentists a convenient and secure unit for their
disposal. It is easy to use and conforms with Heath and
Safety and Best Practice Guidelines.

Precious Waste Storage
The Precious Waste service from PHS Wastemanagement
offers dentists the opportunity to receive payment
for their precious waste. All payments are in line with
current commodity rates, based on highly accurate smelt
and assay analysis. The containers are provided free
of charge and will be collected alongside other dental
waste.

Mercury Spill Kit
This kit is designed to provide everything
necessary to safely and quickly clean up
any spillages of mercury, the World Health
Organisation’s number one environmental
poison, with minimum fuss.

Health and Safety Precautions: Users should ensure that mercury spillages are dealt with immediately to
minimise danger, and avoid contact with mercury or inhalation of its vapours.
Dentaloc
The PHS Wastemanagement Dentaloc offers a practical
solution for all hard dental wastes such as moulds containing
Gypsum which can produce highly toxic hydrogen sulphide
gas. Gypsum can only be taken to specialist licensed landfill
or has to be taken for incineration.

Instructions for use:
Place waste in the container and replace the lid. Keep lid closed
when not in use. Both porthole and full lid options have a
double locking mechanism.

Once fully closed, the lid cannot be opened again

Any liquid waste must be solidified
before collection and transportation.
