Occupy Central

Occupy Central is a protest in Hong Kong that started in late 2014
in the middle of the night and ended around two and a half months
after it started. It took place in Central in front of the government
buildings. Their aim was to get the government to step down, they
didn’t want Hong Kong to continue being a communist country.
Police tried to force the people away using tear gas and various
weapons but they didn’t succeed till months after. The symbol of the
protest was a yellow umbrella or a yellow ribbon.
I know this happened because I walked through the protest while it
was still progressing, it was shown on TV and also there are still some
remains of the protest.

After 99 years of being ruled by Britain it was finally time for Hong
Kong to be returned to China’s ruling party. On Late 1997 a
ceremony took place returning Hong Kong to China, the British
Hong Kong Flag and the British flag lowered down and the China
Hong Kong and the China flag replaced it. Everything that had the
ER symbol was to be replaced with the Hong Kong republic of
China symbol, from uniforms to post boxes, everything had to be
changed. I know this happened because if that didn’t happen we
would still be ruled by the british. Also it was filmed on TV and
broadcasted everywhere.

In World War 2 Japan was fighting against Britain, USA, Canada and
Hong Kong. To stop the war USA planned then created the first
nuclear bomb that could kill millions, even billions, it was the strongest
and biggest bomb the world had seen. Their plan was to drop the
bomb from a helicopter passing by on Japan’s cities till they would
cease to fight them, thus ending the war. The first causality was
Hiroshima, a Japanese island just off the coast of Japan.
I know this happened because this was one of the main reasons why
Japan ended World War 2. Also there are many documentaries and
articles on the Bomb dropping on Hiroshima.
