Post: MANAGER-Operations and Finance Salary £38,000 - £42,000pa The Society for Research into Higher Education wishes to appoint a senior manager within its small London Office team, reporting to the Director of the Society, to be responsible for the Society’s internal management and financial affairs. The Society is both a limited Company and a registered Charity, entailing a variety of reporting and accounting requirements. This is a varied role which embraces all the Society’s financial, administrative and technical systems, leading on the development and improvement of current practices and engaging with the Society’s broad range of activities. The Society is a UK-based international learned society concerned to advance understanding of higher education through the support and dissemination of research. The Society has a wide set of aims and objectives. Amongst its many activities the Society is a publisher of international renown, supports researchers through the provision of seminars, conferences and workshops, provides research grants and promotes the value of research in shaping policy and enhancing practice in higher education. As Manager - Operations and Finance, you will have demonstrable administrative, financial and budgetary experience and high level IT skills and knowledge of a broad range of IT systems and solutions. Experienced in providing support to high level committees, you should also be able to demonstrate success in managing projects on behalf of a board of directors/trustees or their equivalent. Skilled at developing effective relationships both internally and externally, you should be a team player with a positive and flexible attitude and a commitment to the highest levels of service delivery, internally and externally. Some knowledge of the field of higher education would be an advantage, as would relevant experience in an organisation of this nature.
