Identify a location on campus (or in your community) to host your lemonade stand.
a. Pick somewhere central that gets a lot of traffic.
b. Make sure to get permission!
c. Locations may include: outside the library, the main quad, outside the dining hall, in front of a grocery store,
outside of a bookstore, etc.
Use social media, local/school paper, your website, campus posters/flyers to let people know that Lemonade for
Literacy is coming up. Find a sample flyer attached.
Print the Lemonade for Literacy facts.
a. You can print these on label paper to peel and stick on cups or just print them on regular paper and cut and
tape them to cups.
b. Each fact is different and highlights an important literacy fact.
You may want to make larger posters of these facts to have hanging near your lemonade stand.
Set up your table with the cups labeled with literacy facts and filled with delicious lemonade.
Accept donations (or charge $1) for the lemonade to raise money for The Literacy Fund at Pi Beta Phi Foundation.
a. You could decorate mason jars to collect the donations.
b. You may also want to collect new or gently used books instead of monetary donations. These books can be
donated to a local school or library.
This is a great event for the fall or the spring!
