Community Giving

PARTNERS IN PARKS AND RECREATION
FOR SOME, doing good is no more complicated than picking up someone else’s cans and wrappers while hiking our
local hills and trails. For others, it’s stepping forward with donations to fill voids or provide monetary support to help a
child learn to swim, play sports, or simply get a healthy snack. They’re neighbors who give in whatever way they can –
with their time, their money, or even their experience. The results are impressive: they gain a sense of pride and we
end up with a community that’s made even better. There are countless ways to get involved and make a difference.

JOIN THE ADOPT–A–PARK
PROGRAM TODAY!
For more than a decade, Sparks Adopt-A-Park program has assisted in
improving parks and landscaped areas through volunteer support. Volunteers
help by removing weeds and trash, painting, assisting with playground care,
and reporting any areas that are in need of repair. Participating organizations
receive recognition with a sign placed at the adopted park. Share your time
and adopt a park today! Contact Tony at 353-7836 or email
[email protected] for additional information or an application packet.

Sparks Christian Fellowship
Members of Sparks Christian Fellowship provided labor and
time to help area parks through their annual Big Serve event
held in July. More than 200 volunteers assisted at nine
different project sites, including 35 volunteers at Oppio Park
and the shared use field south of Sparks Middle School.
Much was accomplished through their efforts!
