Coordinates on a Screen
Objectives:
- Identify and plot coordinate points and introduce the terms,
origin, axis and quadrant.
- Use equations to represent vertical and horizontal lines.
- Locate poitns in a coordinate system.
The park supervisor uses a computerized map of the National Park to record and monitor activities in
the park. He also uses it to locate fires.
The computer screen shows a map of the National Park. The shaded areas indicate woods. The plain
areas indicate meadows and fields without trees. The numbers represent distance in kilometers.
