Ruby’s Story
Ruby is a Spark (WingRunner) at Salem Baptist Church in Calhoun, GA
Following Missions Month - Mission Month Coordinator said:
• Many clubbers wrote their verses in a notebook and took wherever they
went to study.
• It was great seeing kids get excited about saying verses, devoting
concentrated effort reviewing past verses and looking ahead to new verses.
They took up this challenge knowing they are helping spread the gospel to
children around the world.
• 31 clubbers participated and 4 leaders
• 658 verses quotes (Whoo Hoo!) and raised $1333.90
Actual Text from Ruby’s mother:
On the last meeting in February,
clubbers made boxes to collect pledges
in. At the next meeting, the theme was
"Secret Agent" and all leaders and
clubbers were asked to wear all black
or secret agent attire and the video
"Your Mission" was shown. For those
that chose to accept the mission, they
were fingerprinted and signed a
"contract" to be God's Special Agent
and set a goal of how many verses they
would say during March and all were
given handouts from the website
(letters to parents and charts to keep
track of verses and pledges). Each
clubber got to pick a secret agent name and was given an ID card. During the month of
March, after handbook time, clubbers could recite any verses they had committed to
memory. During Large Group Time, special emphasis was put on "The Armor of God" and
all "agents" played games to show they memorized the full armor.

Ruby solicited friends and family via email and (mom's) facebook. This was her first

She collected pledges and donations through the mail, PayPal, and in person. Each week,
she would update those that made pledges with her new verses until she reached her goal
of 40 verses in a row! She updated over the weekend with 41 verses and cou nted her
donations $381.10!!!)

What an inspiration! Way to go Ruby on memorizing and successfully reciting 41 Bible verses.
