Tom and Megan
Dear Birth Mom,
We want to express our gratitude that you are considering adoption,
and considering us as an adoptive family. We believe that adoption
is a brave choice and promise to make sure your baby grows up
knowing of your bravery and that you always wanted what was best
for him. Your baby would be a long awaited addition to
our family where they would be loved and adored. Two
older siblings and our community of friends and family
are so excited to dote on, love, and teach fun things to
the child we are blessed to adopt.
As a couple, we have been through the good and bad
times together and know what for better or worse means.
Our marriage has been thoroughly tested by time and we
are confident that whatever lies down the road we will go
through it together. We have grown to a stage in our life
where we are in an excellent financial situation. This means we can
offer opportunities to your baby like frequent vacations, weekends
boating on the lake, and the ability to pursue many different
activities and sports of their choice. Your child will have the chance
to pursue music, sports, or whatever other activities may bring them
joy. We are already saving for college, so you can feel confident that
your baby will have the chance for a good education.
We are open to keeping in touch through old fashioned letters,
physical photos, scrapbooking, emails, or setting up a private social
media page or blog- whatever method you would prefer. With the
right birth mom, we would be open to doing visits as our busy
schedules would allow, assuming we were comfortable with the
situation for both our biological children and the adoptive child. We
value you and hope to share open communication with you so that
your child will always know you and of your love.
Sincerely,
Tom and Megan

Megan
I have always been very close to both of my parents. My father is
very warm, kind, and exceedingly easy to talk to. Growing up I was
definitely a Daddy’s girl. My mom is fiercely loving of her family and
would do anything for her loved ones, bend over backward, and
would definitely go the extra mile. Growing up we didn’t have a lot
of kids in our neighborhood so my brother and I played together all
the time. We loved to play pretend and would be our favorite
characters from TV shows and movies such as Star Wars. My parents
absolutely love being Grandparents. They love coming to all the
kids activities and are their biggest fans. They enjoy showering the
kids with gifts, going on special outings and vacations with them,
and are involved in many other ways from making scrap books to
helping with homework. Uncle Chris also loves being an uncle! He is
very hands on and always plays with the kids and often goes
overboard with gifts too.
Tom
My father was a high school math teacher and a high school golf
coach. For most of my childhood my mother was a stay at home
mom. When my older brother went to high school, Mom started
working as a school librarian to save up money to send my brothers
and me to college. My father and I both share a love of sports and a
passion for golf. One of my favorite memories growing up was of my
brothers and I playing golf with our dad and hoping it would be the
day we would beat him. He was always encouraging, but would not
let us win; he wanted us to earn it. My mother and I have always
been close. She was the transportation for all of the sports I played
and my biggest cheerleader. I am the middle child of three boys. My
brothers and I share a love of sports and played a lot of sports
together growing up. Our father instilled a passion for golf in us at a
young age and some of the best times we had growing up were
playing together on the golf course. To this day, we are still
competing on the golf course to see who is the best of the three.
Max & Katie
Max - I do gymnastics and play soccer. I am a level nine in gymnastics
and I play right-mid in soccer. I am involved in the youth group at
church and have been on many mission trips and church retreats and
lock-ins. I have many animals. I have two fish tanks with saltwater
and freshwater fish, a tree frog, two toads, a newt, and a turtle.
Kate - I love singing, dancing, acting, art, and musicals. I’ve been in
many musicals and attended many summer theater camps. In my
free time I like to make art and crafts, and I especially enjoy painting.
One other thing I like to do in my free time is to read. My brother
and I would love to have a little brother or sister in the family!

Megan’s thoughts
about our relationship
Tom and I are opposites, but we
complement each other well. I am more high-strung and he is more
laid back. When we were dating he taught me how to be able to
relax and have fun so that life doesn’t pass me by. I admire his sense
of humor and how he can be so caring and kind. We have a similar
sense of humor and one of the things I love about Tom is how he is
always able to make me laugh. I also admire that if ever any of our
family members or friends have a need, Tom will always do whatever
he can to help. I chose to marry Tom due to all these wonderful
qualities and because I loved how he made me feel desirable. When I
am in his arms it feels like home.
Tom is a wonderful father! He is so hands on and has always been
right in there on the floor playing with the kids at every age. He is
the Dad who volunteers to assist to coach with our kids’ sports
teams. He is absolutely amazing with babies. He is like a baby
whisperer and is so calm and soothing with a crying baby. I married
Tom for his wonderful qualities and how he made me feel, but I am
amazed at my luck that he is also such an incredible Dad too!
Tom’s thoughts
about our relationship
In many ways Megan and I are opposites. She has a love of music
and theatre and I have a love to sports. She is more reserved and
structured and I am more laid back and go with the flow. However,
when it comes to the core of what we believe, we are very close to
the same. I admire Megan for many things. She is a very smart
person and I am amazed sometimes, by the things that she has
learned and knows. Megan is a compassionate person and always
wanting to lend a helping hand. As to why I decided to marry her,
first we were in love. We started our relationship as friends and
grew that into a love for each other. We enjoy spending time with
each other. To this day, we look forward to the vacations and
getaway days that we get to spend together.
Megan is a wonderful mother. She wants to make sure that our kids
are able to participate in any activity they want to try. She is very
supportive in their quest to find their passion, while exposing them
to the activities she and I both have a passion for. She is a firm
believer in school comes first and challenges our kids to do the best
they can. She loves to spend time with our kids and taking them on
vacations to show them the world outside of our hometown. There
is nothing more important to Megan than our kids and she is excited
to expand our family to share the love with a new child.

Home and Community
Our home has 2 stories, 4 bedrooms, 2 full and 2 half baths. We
have a nice family room with a 2-story ceiling and a fireplace. We
also have a full basement set up with a home theater, pool table,
and exercise area. The neighborhood has lots of children. We are
in an excellent school system, known for good academic
performance and students can excel at other activities there
such as in music and sports. Religion is very important and to us
and we are active members of our church. The kids participate in
the youth group and go on mission trips in the summer. Megan
has been involved in various roles over the years from deacon,
choir member, Sunday school teacher, vacation bible school helper,
Arts and Ministry committee, and prayer team member. Bringing a
child up in the faith and teaching them about
openness, acceptance, and love for others is very
important to us and we
promise to raise your baby in
this way.
Why Adoption?
Our situation is probably different than many who are
looking to adopt. We started our family with the birth
of our son Maxwell (Max) in 2001, followed by the birth
of our daughter Kathryn (Katie) in 2004. As we were
considering having a third child, in 2008, we learned
then that medically it was not recommended for Megan to become
pregnant again. At first we tried to accept that our family was done
and we would just have two children. However, there always
seemed to be something missing and we felt drawn and called
toward adoption. We looked into adoption and we wanted to make
sure that we were financially in the best position to adopt before
moving forward. Now we are at a wonderful place and we are both
excited to start this journey of adoption. We value you
and hope to share an open adoption so that your child
will always know you and of your love. We are happy to
share letters, pictures, and visits.
Thank you for considering us!
