PENNY WARS!!

PENNY WARS!!
Lutheran Schools Week ~ March 5th-9th
Purchase a
coupon that
is equal to a
box of pennies!
LEAVE NO PENNY
LEFT BEHIND!!
THE CAUSE:
Money raised in the penny wars will go to the Ronald McDonald House. This program provides a “home-away-from-home” for families so they can stay close by their hospitalized child
at little or no cost. The Houses are built on the simple idea that nothing else should matter
when a family is focused on healing their child – not where they can afford to stay, where they
will get their next meal or where they will lay their head at night to rest. They believe that
when a child is hospitalized the love and support of family is as powerful as the strongest
medicine prescribed. Check out www.rmhc.org.
THE RULES:
The GOAL of PENNY WARS is to collect as many PENNIES as possible in your classroom
jar and put as many NON-PENNIES in everyone else’s jar. Pennies give your classroom positive points while nickels, dimes, and quarters take points AWAY from the classroom’s total.
(Nickels take away five points, dimes ten etc.) NO PAPER MONEY ALLOWED. Larger
donations or checks will be accepted; however they will not go towards the penny wars.
Therefore, you want to put PENNIES in YOUR CLASSROOM’S jar (positive points) & nickels, dimes, and quarters (negative points) in the jars of OTHER CLASSROOMS. Whichever
classroom has THE MOST POINTS at 8:30 am on Friday, March 9th is the winner and will
receive a classroom pizza party and free dress day.
Money taken in through your classroom IS CREDITED ONLY TO YOUR CLASSROOM.
WHAT COMES IN EACH DAY MUST BE ACCOUNTED FOR EACH DAY, NOT KEPT
UNTIL THE END.
DON’T LET THOSE PENNIES LIE ON THE CURB; LOOK UNDER
YOUR BEDS, CLEAN OUT YOUR CAR, AND START COLLECTING!
