The Absolute Monarchs of Europe
In this unit you will learn about the Absolute Monarchs of England, Spain, France,
Russia and Germany. Weʼve spent much of this quarter learning about the seismic
philosophical, economic, social, and geographical changes which were happening as a
result of the Renaissance and the explorations of the New World. We now shift our
attention back to the Old World to the decades before these earth-shaking changes
would finally begin to rattle the thrones of Europe in the late Eighteenth Century.
Each student will be assigned one of the five countries listed above. Your task as a
country-group will be to create a bulletin board display highlighting the topics described
below.
