GPCI Gazette February 6, 2015 Chancellor’s Corner “We Are What’s Next!” Dear GPCI Parents & Guardians, Happy Friday parents and guardians of GPCI. Next Tuesday, February 10th, is our parent university. This parent university will be hosted completely by scholars. The focus will be on AVID and their roles will be instructional. The lower grade levels will display their college research via banners and tri-folds. This is the first time we have attempted an event like this, but I know their AVID instructors have worked hard. In March, we will have open house. We will be communicating in the next couple of weeks as to where… we are planning to do a collaborative open house with a STEM focused elementary. Parents and scholars will have an opportunity to see a pathway focused on STEM at all levels. Each scholar will have a role that evening, so please make plans for him or her to attend. Have a wonderful weekend, Mrs. Ellison Curriculum & Instruction p. 2 STEM Curriculum p. 3 Humanities Curriculum p. 4 Parent Page p. 5 Community Page Grade level course overviews by week, due dates of major grades, and course specific news will now be sent out every week in the GPCI Gazette. For specific assignment dates and grades, please access Skyward and/or your scholar’s assignment sheet (AVID notebook).
