Temperature Ratings
ATTENTION
Temperature Ratings involve many variables which
include; personal body metabolism, air humidity, wind
speed, body size, type of shelter, type of sleeping clothing,
sleeping mat, and type of food and drink recently consumed.
Extreme Rating - this is a rating where the sleeping bag
will provide some comfort to the user in emergencies or
extreme, and unexpected, weather changes.
Comfort Range - this is the target range for a particular
model of sleeping bag to be used and when selecting a
model.
Note: there is no standardized and regulated program to
establish Temperature Ratings. Be attentive when making
a selection to compare bag sizes, materials and weights
before focusing on temperature ratings. We also recommend purchasing from retailers with staff properly
trained in sleeping bag selection.
