Mobile Check Deposit Update:We are conducting final testing now, and will begin to allow approved
members to enroll about the time you receive this newsletter. This feature will allow you to deposit
checks from your mobile device, without needing to come in to our office. Watch for application updates in your
store, and be sure to read the Terms of Agreement carefully before you begin using the service, as there are some
important requirements.
You are invited
April 10th at 6:30
pm, to the “Country Gentleman” in
Kennewick. Members will have an
opportunity to vote for our Volunteer Board
of Directors and there will be a report on
the State of the Credit Union by the President. Up for re-election this meeting is Carol
Krueger, a retired bank manager who has been
serving as a Director since 2007. Also up
for election is Meegan Garza, a local
small business owner (M2 Counseling and Consulting, Inc.) who has
been serving as an appointee for
several months (filling a vacancy left
by Diane Turney). Members interested
in running for either of these positions
should contact the credit union president.
There will be DOOR PRIZES (like
iPads, kindle, etc), complimentary hors
d’oeuvres and other refreshments provided for those who attend (even the
kids). All members are invited, we hope
to see you there!

REPO cars for sale
Become our facebook friend to see the repossessed cars
or RVs we are selling. They are all “AS IS” with no warranty
(of course)– but you could save thousands over buying from a dealership.
IBEW #112 Jens Olsen Scholarship
Two Scholarships available this year! $500 is available for
a graduating high school senior who will be an incoming college freshman this fall, and another for an existing
college student. Named in honor of a founding director
of this Credit Union, this scholarship is for pre-existing
member of our Credit Union or children of IBEW
#112 electricians. The deadline is April 30, 2013
and the application should include a student
essay, an official high school or college
transcript, and 2 letters of recommendation from officials, current/past employers or
a pastor. Not sure if you will get it? Apply
anyway – we only receive a very small number of applicants, so your chances are good!
Common Courtesy:
For member that use our drive thru: If you have
more than 2 or 3 checks to deposit or cash,
please come into our lobby to prevent long
waits for members behind you. Please also note that we are
now scanning all checks, which provides several advantages
(like being able to view images of deposited checks). To keep
the drive-thru running quickly it requires checks in crisp
clean condition, not ragged or wrinkled (which can slow
down the scanning process). Checks in poor condition
should be brought inside
the lobby. Although
Karen may miss seeing you at the drive thru,
she won’t miss ragged or
wrinkled checks…
From the President:
Credit Unions were organized over a century
ago as not-for-profit institutions of thrift, to
help people of modest means get better
rates on loans and deposits. Unlike a bank,
Credit Unions have volunteer directors,
and return profits to you, our “member
owners,” with better rates, better service,
and expanded products lines. We do not encourage extravagant living or excess debt – rather
we encourage members to avoid un-needed debt and pay
it off quickly to save money. Our goal is to help our members achieve personal financial success!
We strive to meet the changing demands brought on with
recent advances in technology, like smart phones. Therefore we are proud to have recently rolled-out our Apple
and Android mobile device applications, which will allow
members to deposit their paper checks remotely, without
making a trip to our office. There are some important
requirements to using this service – so please read the
Terms of Agreement, and talk with a teller or give us a call
if you need extra guidance. Thank you for your membership, and if you have any suggestions on how we can better serve you, please drop me a line.
