CONICS
A conic section (or simply conic) is the
intersection of a plane and a double-napped
cone.
Four Basic conics:
1) Circle
2) Ellipse
3) Parabola
4) Hyperbola

Locus
Each of the conics is defines as a locus
(collection) of points satisfying a certain
geometric property.
For example, the definition of a circle is the
collection of all points (x, y) that are
equidistant from a fixed point (h, k) leads to
standard form of a circle
(x – h)2 + (y – k)2 = r2
