FIND A COMIC STRIP WITH
1. Go to http://comics.com (you do not need to log in to find and use a comic strip, but if you want to store the
comics that you like, you will need to create an account).
2. You can either search by title (Luann, Speed Bump, Drabble, etc.), or by tag (i.e., key word):
3. Once you have found a comic that you like, the options for sharing that comic are in the lower right-hand corner.
In particular, you are going to want the “embed” code if you want to embed the comic into your Blackboard
course or any other webpage:

HOW TO EMBED A
CARTOON IN BLACKBOARD
1. Once you have your cartoon, click “EMBED” in the lower right-hand corner:
Then copy the embed code:
2. Now go to the Blackboard (Bb) course where you want to embed the cartoon. For this example, I want to embed
the cartoon in the Announcements (although you could embed it in almost any Bb content area), so I am going
to click “Create Announcement:”
<>
Don’t forget to click on the HTML-toggle button
in the editing menu before you paste the embed code!
Otherwise, your final product will be an announcement that displays all of the code, instead of an
announcement that uses the code in the background to show your cartoon.

When you are in HTML-source mode, just paste the embed code (“CTRL-C “ on a PC, “Apple-C” on a Mac, or just
right-click inside the editing box and select “paste”). Be sure to click the <> button again once the code has
been pasted.
Back in “normal” mode, I can see that the comic is now in the text box. All I have to do now is click the “Submit”
button in the upper right-hand corner of the Bb screen, and I will see the comic on the Announcements page:
3. If the comic is too large, you can resize it by clicking the button with the double down arrow
“Edit” from the pulldown menu:

Once you see the text box with the editing menu, you can grab and drag any corner of the cartoon to resize it;
then click “Submit:”
There – you have now added a bit of visual interest to an otherwise text-heavy (and dull-looking)
Blackboard Announcements page! Wasn’t that easy?
