INTERNATIONAL EX LIBRIS CONTEST
“EX LIBRIS FOR WILHELM STOROST-VYDŪNAS – 150 YEAR ANNIVERSURY”
RULES AND REGULATIONS OF CONTEST
Frydrich Bajoraitis Public Library of Šilutė Municipality District together in cooperation with
Lithuanian Artists' Association, Vydūnas association and Vydūnas culture of Kintai in 2017
organizes International Ex Libris contest named “EX LIBRIS. WILHELM STOROSTVYDŪNAS – 150” and invites Lithuanian artist at same time artists from abroad create Ex Libris
dedicated to the phenomenon Vydūnas (pen-name), Wilhelm Storost (germ.) personality and his
creation work meaning, revealing a forceful great thinkers influence for the Lithuanian nation and
it’s written heritage, which tells about Lithuanian culture, history, the past and the present.
THE AIM OF THE CONTENT - re-evaluate and interpret Vydūnas as famous historical
figure, honored philosopher, writer, dramatist, publicist and active member of the culture his input
in to Lithuania culture, his life, written creative work heritage and give meaning to actualize his
philosophical and humanistic thought in to professional culture, reflect the historical environment,
his personality, events and activities through Vydūnas life context.
PARTICIPANTS: Lithuanian and foreign countries artists.
PLACE AND TIME: contest open from 27th of April till 20th of August 2017.
Contest Ex Libris exhibition of and awards will be held in F. Bajoraitis Public Library, 4th quarter in
2017.

CONDITIONS OF ACCEPTANCE: there is not participant fee. Each participant can send
no more than 4 different Ex libris samples of his own created work. Each sample should be sent
with 3 autographed printed copies. We are going to accept all of the graphics technology, including
digital printing. Monotype present drawings works will not be accepted. Each ex libris work on the
greater side must not exceed 13 cm. Maximum paper sizes – 15x11 cm.
Required legend on Ex libris: ex libris; Vydūnui – 150; person name or institution name to
which Ex libris dedicated.
On the other side of Ex libris should be written creators name, surname and country. All
received Ex libris works going to be placed at Šilute F. Bajoraitis Public Library, where will be
arranged Ex libris exhibition. Later on all Ex libris will be exhibited in other Lithuania cities and
abroad.
JURY AND PRIZES: jury members going to evaluate each Ex libris. Onley requirements
meat Ex libris will be exhibited and rewarded. The most creative Ex libris will be awarded prizes,
diplomas, etc. All participants of International Ex libris will receive a free exhibition catalog.
SPONSORS: Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania, Šilute District Municipality.
NOTE: all the Ex libris authors creative work without any individual contracts irrevocably
and unrestrained over without any compensation entitles this work ( Ex libris) to use in any manner
and without limitation, to reproduce, distribute, publish and recognize the whole work of authorship
property rights transfer to Šilutė District Municipality F. Bajoraitis Public Library.
Author's consent to these terms is seen by sending Ex libris work to International Ex libris content.
