ARCHBISHOP & AUXILIARY BISHOP’S ENGAGEMENTS
CANADIAN JOURNEY IN RESTORATIVE JUSTICE: Join Archbishop Prendergast in the Walk for Reconciliation from
Gatineau (de l’Île High School/Robert-Guertin Arena) to Ottawa City Hall before noon on Sun., May 31, in solidarity with
aboriginal peoples to heal the wounds of Indian Residential Schools. Please promote the moving video
(http://catholicottawa.ca/video) addressing the issues in our residential schools with regard to our aboriginal brothers
and sisters and our need to ask for forgiveness for the wounds they suffered while in the care of the residential schools.
Contained within the video is powerful message from Archbishop Prendergast. At Sunday Mass, please add one of the
prayers to the Universal Prayer found at: (http://catholicottawa.ca/how-to-get-involved). One way to participate on May
31st if you cannot participate in the Walk, is ring the church bells on Sun., May 31, 12:00 noon in solidarity with all

DIOCESAN FEAST DAY: Celebrate the foundation of the diocese and the 20th anniversary of the episcopal ordination
of Archbishop Prendergast at Notre Dame Cathedral, Thurs., June 11, 7:30 p.m. The papal nuncio to Canada,
Archbishop Luigi Bonazzi will offer the homily. All are welcome.

CAMPAIGN FOR EARTHQUAKE VICTIMS IN NEPAL: The Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops with the
Canadian Catholic Organization for Development and Peace has a joint campaign to raise funds for the victims of the
earthquake in Nepal. The Archdiocese of Ottawa has made an initial contribution. Parishes are asked to encourage
further assistance from the faithful; people can add their contributions to the weekly collection in envelopes marked for

PRAYER FOR VOCATIONS: Pentecost Sunday - May 24. For an increased devotion to the Holy Spirit among our

ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP – MILK BAG WORKSHOP: Milk bags can be made into sleeping mats that show
care for the environment while helping the needy who would otherwise sleep on cold, damp ground. A MILK BAG
WORKSHOP sponsored by the Catholic Women’s League will be held at Our Lady of the Visitation Parish Hall, 5338
Bank St. on Tues., May 26, 10:00 a.m. - noon. Participants will learn how to cut milk bags, crochet or loom them into
