GRIT REMINDER OF THE WEEK
Show RESPONSIBILITY by following school guidelines with electronics and use them before
school, at lunch time and after school.
MOVIE NIGHT
The Fridley High School Robotics Club is hosting a Movie Night next Friday (March 17) in the FHS
Auditorium at 5pm. The movie is WALL-E and admission is free, though concessions are available
to buy. Bring friends and family! Come support the FHS robotics team!
SPRING SPORTS OPPORTUNITIES
Any 7th and 8th Grade Boys and Girls interested in running track this spring, there will be an
informational meeting on Wednesday March 15th at 8:05am in the back gym. For further
information please contact Mr. Bonde, Mr. Bobick or Mr. Reiter. Season will begin the week of
March 27th.
Any 7th and 8th Grade Girls interested in playing softball this spring, there will be an information
meeting on Thursday March 9th at 8:05am in the Cafeteria. For further information please
contact Mr. Bonde or Ms. Steph. Practices will begin the week of March 27th.
Any 7th and 8th Grade Boys interested in playing baseball this spring please talk to Mr. Bonde
about information, no meeting is set right now but practices will begin the week of March 27th.
Any 8th Grade girl interested in trying out for the fastpitch team. Tryouts will be March 13th and

BOYS 6-8TH GRADE INTERESTED IN TENNIS
All 6-8th grade boys interested in playing tennis this spring please come to an informational
meeting TODAY; Wednesday, March 15th at 8:10am in the front gym. Please check in with your
homeroom teacher first. If you are unable to attend, please see Mr. Branitski or Mr. Bonde for
more information on how to register. The season starts Monday, March 27th.

BUS SAFETY POSTER CONTEST
Wha t Is It ?
A design contest to encourage students to THINK about all elements of school bus safety. The contest presents
opportunities for school bus safety activities, as well as provides an opportunity to discuss pupil transportation
safety themes while working on, or critiquing, student posters.
Who May Enter?
The School Bus Safety Poster Contest is open to all K-12 students.
Rules:
The 2017 theme is: “My Driver - My Safety Hero!” This theme must appear in writing or printing in all posters
submitted. Drawings must be original, correct in safety concept, and the exclusive work of the student entering
the contest in idea, design and execution. All artwork should be positive in approach, demonstrating only
proper school bus safety behaviors. At least a part of a yellow school bus must be present in the poster. Click

in April 2017.
RULE SHEETS AVAILABLE IN THE MAIN OFFICE
The student in the winning grade from each category will receive a certificate of
recognition and a $35 gift card to Barnes & Noble. If the entry is forwarded to the
National Contest, the student will receive, instead, a $50 gift card from Barnes &
Noble. National Contest awards cash prizes. Top State winners
will also be invited to and recognized at a Minnesota Twins game.
