Industrial Revolution Skit
The Industrial Revolution was a time of tremendous progress. New technology was put to use in
producing energy, cotton, and farming. Where and how people worked were also drastically changed.
In this project, you will work in groups of three to create and act out a skit (2-3 minutes long) depicting
life during the Industrial Revolution.
Instructions:
1. Pick a character (randomly; 1 of 9 choices; characters must NOT repeat in a group)
2. Write a script (2 pages, to be handed in) with dialogue
3. Write a summary paragraph on this topic: “What has been the effect of industrialization on the
character’s life?” (to be handed in)
4. Rehearse the skit
5. Hand in this instruction sheet (with rubrics) to Ms Lau and act it out in front of the class!
Tip #1: Make your skit short and relevant to the Industrial Revolution!
Tip #2: A paragraph contains:
- A topic sentence (e.g. The effects of industrialization on Tom Billing’s life are ____a____,
___b___, and ____c_____),
- Facts (at least three facts in three sentences)
- A concluding sentence (e.g. That is why Tom Billing was now ___a___, ____b____, and
____c___)
