JANUARY 3, 2017
Ring out, wild bells, to the wild sky,
The flying cloud, the frosty light:
The year is dying in the night;
Ring out, wild bells, and let him die.
Ring out the old, ring in the new,
Ring, happy bells, across the snow:
The year is going, let him go;
Ring out the false, ring in the true.
Ring out the grief that saps the mind
For those that here we see no more;
Ring out the feud of rich and poor,
Ring in redress to all mankind.
Ring out a slowly dying cause,
And ancient forms of party strife;
Ring in the nobler modes of life,
With sweeter manners, purer laws.
Ring out the want, the care, the sin,
The faithless coldness of the times;
Ring out, ring out my mournful
rhymes
But ring the fuller minstrel in.
Ring out false pride in place and
blood,
The civic slander and the spite;
Ring in the love of truth and right,
Ring in the common love of good.
Ring out old shapes of foul disease;
Ring out the narrowing lust of gold;
Ring out the thousand wars of old,
Ring in the thousand years of peace.
Ring in the valiant man and free,
The larger heart, the kindlier hand;
Ring out the darkness of the land,
Ring in the Christ that is to be

CIRCLE THE CITIES
WITH LOVE: JAN 15
Our nation has just
endured one of the most
divisive and hate-filled
election seasons in our
history. We need to begin
anew and STAND FOR

HO. HO. HO. It’s not nearly as fun to
undecorate for Christmas as it is to

the fun factor (or at least expedite
the process). Our Diaconate would
be most appreciative.
129th ANNUAL MEETING. On Sunday,
January 22, we will have one service
only at 9am followed by our 129th
Annual Meeting of the Congregation.
Childcare will be offered during the
30-minute meeting, and coffee and
refreshments will be served for all
ages in Plymouth Hall after the
meeting.
DINING FOR WOMEN will meet in the
Seim Room at 6:30 on Tuesday
evening, January 10. (Soup and salad
makers are to come to the Plymouth

Samlanh. Contact Laurel Seidelman

S ALE
Sales continue for God’s Garden
surrounding the Fellowship Fire Circle on
the west side of the Education Building.
God’s Garden is expected to be a
place where youth groups will enjoy
fellowship, preschoolers and Sunday
school students will read stories, small
groups will meet, individuals will pray,
and all will grow and revel in the
beauty of God’s creation.
As a reminder: funds for the fire circle
were contributed through private
donations and a private memorial
fund. The hope for God’s Garden is
that members will help support it
through memorial or general
donations. Tax deductible donations of
any amount are welcome. A donation
of $800 will buy an eight foot evergreen
tree, $200 a flowering hydrangea or
evergreen boxwood, and $25 will go
towards a group of plants in the
butterfly or hummingbird areas.
You can find the donation link on the
God’s Garden page under Latest
News at wscongo.org. Earmarked
donations will be identified for a
season with a copper plant marker.
After the season, the marker will be
given to the donor.
The sale will conclude on the first day
of Spring, after which time the
smaller garden elements will be
planted.
If you have any questions regarding
God’s Garden, contact Properties
Committee members Jane Booth or
Jay Barnes.
