The Week in Review On Tuesday, we started investigations into the fields of symbolism and allegory inside written text. Also, our class discussed with each other our narrative setting introductions we wrote about a mysterious crime scene we discovered in Mrs. Wilkerson’s office. On Wednesday, we began class reflecting on symbolism and allegory while asking questions. Then, as study to understand the two topics greater, we played Kahoot on symbolism, crowning --------------------------------------Birthdays: ● 11/27: Lauren Mansky ● 12/10: Caitlin Cooler --------------------------------------- Gabe Botros and Emma Hall as winners. The Kahoot covered symbolism through colors, animals, flowers, and seasons, and helped us with our symbolism work for over the weekend. We also had time to start on our weekend work. The next Monday, we had time to share our symbolism projects with other members of the class we also met in pairs to discuss our argumentative writing pieces. On Tuesday we spent the majority of class reviewing our symbolism work. We also got into our writing clubs and discussed Kaleigh-Ann’s writing piece and what a good argumentative piece has. On Wednesday, we discussed parts A-C of Greek/Latin Roots Week 4 and then worked in the media center. On Friday, we worked on assignments that will be needed for next week and discussed our Greek/Latin Root word webs. Upcoming Assignments Special News! Students who had REACH class with Mrs. Armbruster in 3rd and 4th grade had a reunion party on December 4 at East Woods. Because fourth graders leave school later than middle schoolers, we met the Mega Minds (fourth grade gifted students) and discussed writing with them. After the fourth graders left, we enjoyed the cupcakes brought by Katherine and the cookies brought by Mrs. Armbruster while catching up with Mrs. Armbruster. Then we played the story game, where each person comes up with a sentence or two to make a story. Finally we took several group selfies before saying farewell. On December 8, Service community will embark on a field trip to Playhouse Square, watching the play The Christmas Carol. Those who are going should remember to save room for breakfast.
