PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE -lge May 2013 Kenmore Community Club Newsletter MEMBERS CORNER Invite a friend, relative or neighbor to come along with you for an evening at the club house. TRAVELERS Bobbie DeCoster is back from her wonderful trip to Antarctica with her Daughter and may have a few pictures and highlights for us. HOPELINK In July we are hosting the All Non-profit Picnic, which includes KCC, Kenmore Heritage Society, The Arts of Kenmore, Friends of the Kenmore Library and the Kenmore Senior Center. We had a great turnout last year and hope to do the same this year. At last year’s picnic our club had a raffle and food drive to benefit Hopelink. We had a great donation response from all of you and especially from George Maser of Maser’s Pet and Grooming, with all of his food donations. Thanks again George. This year we are planning to have some great raffle items for you (crocheted baby blanket in progress, several homemade necklaces, etc.), and Ostrom’s Drug has agreed to give us some items as they did last year. So far, so good, in that department. In addition this year I would like to add a bake sale. I mentioned this at our last potluck and had a good response. Several have offered to bring homemade baked goodies. We will have more discussion at next week’s potluck. School will be out in about five weeks and all those hungry kids will be home for the summer. So we can bring soup, peanut butter, jelly, tuna, etc. at the next two meetings and I will gather it up for the next big food drive in July. I have a few dollars in the “jar” and a couple cans of food but not enough to make a trip yet, so keep it coming and I will keep you posted. -Your link to Hopelink, Bev Peterson 2 ATTENDANCE INCENTIVE DRAWING: Joe Loutsis’ name was drawn at April’s potluck, but unfortunately he was not present so the amount will be raised to $15.00 for May.
