School Meals are a Great Value and Huge Convenience for Busy Families!
At Bloomington Schools we’re always working to offer students healthier and tastier choices. A Registered Dietician reviews all of our menus. Bloomington school cafeterias meet the new federal nutrition standards for school meals, ensuring
that meals are healthy, well-balanced and provide students all the nutrition they need to succeed at school. School meals
offer students low-fat milk, fruits and vegetables, proteins and whole grains, while meeting strict limits on saturated fat
and portion size. New school lunch additional standards require:
t
Age-appropriate calorie limits
t
Larger servings of vegetables and fruits
(students must take at least one 1/2 cup serving of fruit or vegetables with their lunch meal)
t
A wider variety of vegetables, including dark green and red/orange vegetables and legumes
t
Fat-free or 1% milk (flavored milk must be fat-free)
t
More whole grains
t
Less sodium
Check or cash meal payments may be made at the individual school kitchens or the district Food Service office
(1350 West 106th Street). For account balances call 952-681-6570. Credit card payments may be made on the
PayPAMS web site - http://www.PayPAMS.com. Payments made before 8:00 am will usually be in the student’s account
the same school day by lunch.
If your application is approved for reduced, there is no charge for lunch or breakfast for the 2014-2015
school year due to recent state legislation.
