Spandex, leggings, or any type of shorts. Most of the time we will be without
footwear. Loose clothing such as t-shirts can be a safety issue.
HAIR WILL BE UP. No loose long hair.
Competition/Meets: Team Competition Leo & Warm Up
● NO JEWELRY. This is a WIAA rule for gymnasts.
● Undergarments cannot show as this will cause deductions.
● Hair must be tightly secured. Deduction taken if the gymnast pushes hair off
of her face.
● An athletic brace on the body cannot be worn during meets. Tape is allowed.

Floor music & Choreography are key pieces in the creativity of High School
Gymnastics. The gymnasts and MG coaches will create routines along with
selecting floor music which fits the gymnast’s personality and skill level. You
are not responsible for purchasing floor music unless you so desire. Music will
be approved by coaches.
Grips & Wrist Guards are not required.
PARTICIPATION
●
●
●
●
●
Attend all scheduled meets/practices which include scheduled
community outings.
Arrive on time- this means on the floor ready to start! Plan ahead. Give
yourself extra time prior to practice for hair, grips, clothing, etc. Tardiness will
result in added conditioning for the team.
Injury- returning to practice after an injury requires clearance from our
Athletic Trainer. At times, you may also need an MD order.
Illness- Contact the coach and rest up! (You may need a note from your
MD to return to practice after an illness which required medical care,
hospitalization, or lengthy time off.)
When choosing to participate in MGHS gymnastics, you have decided to
follow the rules/regs of this program. At practice and meets, we are a
team. Our gymnasts will not be coached or assisted by any other coaches
or instructors during season. If this occurs, you will not be eligible to
participate in meets.
EXCUSED Absences: family vacation, illness, or injury.
Contact Coach Jenny ahead of time if you know you have a vacation planned. I
will add it to my calendar. If there are excessive absences of any kind,
participation in competition may be held.
❖
❖
❖
❖
To be eligible for competition, the gymnast must have passing grades and
adhere to the MGHS Athletic Code of Conduct.
You must have attended school the day of a meet.
If school is missed due to MD appt, wedding/funeral, or Admin approval,
all are acceptable to practice or compete.
If school was missed due to illness, notify a coach that you will not be
attending practice that day. Excused absence but school policy states you
will not attend practice that day. We appreciate the communication :)
Unexcused Absences- (no call/no show)
x1 = extra conditioning at practice
x2 = miss out on a meet plus added
conditioning at practice
x3 or more = may be dismissed from Team
for this season.

Varsity level in at least 50% of meets. Coaches
discretion for any other letters.
Varsity has five gymnasts per event.
JV has up to 10 gymnasts per event.
All meets are both Varsity and JV except Invitationals
