Your UNICEF’s Display Board (Suitable for all Secondary School Students) Aim Spread awareness of the crisis facing children across the globe, and call for everyone’s support for UNICEF’s action in helping world’s children. How? Step 1: Read all appendices and learn about the state of the world’s children and UNICEF’s responses. Appendix 1: Photo stories of children worldwide Appendix 2: Facts on Children Appendix 3: About the Convention on the Rights of the Child Appendix 4: About UNICEF’s work Step 2: Discuss with your team, decide your theme and design your display board Recommendations: Post photo stories of children worldwide, so that your schoolmates could visualise the living environment and situation of children through the pictures. (See Appendix 1) *You may select the pictures subjected to the proposed theme. You do not have to display all of them on the board. Incorporate the facts on children, so that your schoolmates can get a clearer picture of the situation of children worldwide. (See Appendix 2) *Be creative! You may do it in a more interactive way, e.g. post the answers underneath the relevant questions on the board. Introduce the Convention on the Rights of the Child.(See Appendix 3) Introduce UNICEF’s work in response to the relevant child issues. (See Appendix 4) You may select the information subjected to the proposed theme. You do not have to display all of them on the board. Step 3: Invite your schoolmates to take actions after reading the display board Recommendations: Invite your schoolmates to do reflection. Encourage them to think of the ways to help children. Example 1: If you were growing in a developing country, how would be your life? Example 2: Why are children deprived of children’s rights? What can we do for the children in need? * You may leave some spaces on the display board for everyone to express their views. Invite your schoolmates to donate and support UNICEF’s work (Please download application box application form at our website) *If fundraising is the follow-up activity, you may explain the use of donations for their better understanding. Step 4: Support UNICEF’s education work (Please refer to Appendix 5) * Please share your views and outcome of this activity with UNICEF, so we know how we may improve the promotion of children’s rights in your campus.
