ANNUAL
REPORT
JUNE 2015
FY14 October 1, 2013 September 30, 2014
FULFILLING OUR MISSION
The Nantucket Dreamland Foundation is dedicated to enriching the
cultural and intellectual life of Nantucket by providing year-round films,
educational programs, and a venue for activities that engage Nantucket
in the evolving world of digital entertainment and education.
Much more than just a movie theater, the Dreamland presents yearround films, educational programs and world-class entertainment while
providing a venue for community activities.

Over 500 individual members and more
than 50 business partners in 2015
Thank you for your support.
W
ith your generosity and support the Dreamland has sold over
65,000 tickets for events ranging from blockbuster movies
to children’s drama programs like last summer’s Seussical.
Ticket revenue is very important, but other sources including concession
sales, venue rentals, philanthropic support, and partnerships with varied
local organizations and philanthropic support is critical to offset our
operating expenses.
We are pleased that the Dreamland has quickly re-assumed its historic
place setting as an island institution and as we enter our fifth season
of operation we are changing our focus from start-up mode including
extensive capital investments to sustainable operation. Our long term
goals will be seeking a much needed building endowment to offset
depreciation losses and to ensure our organization’s health.
Share all that we have to to offer with your friends, become a member
and/or come enjoy a movie. We are thrilled to be a part of the
community and we are grateful for your continued support.

CONNECTING OUR COMMUNITY
Our belief in the immeasurable benefit that access to world-class
performances provides is shared with our many community partners. In
addition, our collaborations showcase diverse local talents and provide
a much-needed venue in the heart of downtown Nantucket.
CHILDREN’S THEATER EDUCATION
Now in our 6th year!
Dreamland theater students ages 6-19 learn from highly-qualified
professional staff while appearing on stage in age-appropriate groups
throughout the year. Scholarships are provided to ensure families at any

OUR ANNUAL GALA
A standout summer event, our annual Stage and Screen Gala highlights
our commitment to provide exceptional cinematic and cultural
opportunities for Nantucket, year-round, in our downtown theater.
Special guests have included Robert De Niro, Michael Douglas, Sharon
Stone, and Bill Belichick.
Sponsors and ticket holders enjoy an intimate evening staged throughout the building, including cocktails, a program with our special guests
in the main theater, and an after-party filled with live music and plenty of
food and drink.
Gala sponsorship packages and individual ticket sales are vital to the
fiscal health of our year-round operations. We thank everyone who helps
make this memorable evening such a success.
